Parking (paid) is right around the corner, easy access. Check-in was efficient, and initial impressions of the hotel were excellent. It has a smaller, warm feel to it vs. a huge hotel downtown. Bar/restaurant area is cool/funky, a nice place to have coffee or a drink. The hotel is transparent about it being an "historic" hotel that has been updated. I think this is a positive, as the hallways leading to the guest rooms have more character with the dark wood and wall lamps. It is dark, however. My guest room was nice. Modern bathroom and shower, good space and amenities. Some cons...the beds were miserably soft. This is subjective, of course, but it prevented a sound night's sleep for me. Con #2: Noise. The hotel is adjacent the "L" public transportation system, and it is pretty much constant. Also, we had a church revival going on next door on a Sunday morning, so that was annoying. Neither noise issues were the hotel's fault, but be advised. Overall, I liked the hotel and would probably go back, but I would choose a corner room on a side away from the L.
