Our stay at Monkbridge was outstanding from the moment we arrived. In fact even before arrival with the informative welcome email explaining check in and directions etc. We were so warmly welcomed and shown to our room, everything explained so well. We stayed in room 1 which had a beautiful four poster bed, it was so gorgeous. Immaculately clean. So traditional and individual yet had all the modern comforts of a posh hotel. With complementary tea coffee and home made biscuits even a welcome Sherry. There is a payable mini bar with very reasonable prices. All toiletries are in the bathroom and there is a Hair dryer provided. The breakfast is what takes this from a beautiful hotel to an absolutely five star spectacular one. I travel extensively for work spending a lot of my life in different hotels and guest houses and I can say this is without a doubt the best breakfast I have ever had. The Irish soda bread is what dream are made of. The venison sausage, beautifully cooked bacon and the mushrooms were so delicious my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Absolutely recommend. Really central location, really helpful and friendly staff. Can’t think of one thing to fault. Outstanding.

A delightful place to stay in a great location with lovely hosts. A short 10-15 minute walk and you're in middle of town with all the sights. Breakfast consists of lots of fresh homemade options that are top notch. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with refreshments and amazing smelling toiletries. Would love to stay again. Look no further, this is the one you should book.

What not too like, a fantastic guest house, with excellent rooms, a superb freshly cooked breakfast, and a location which is 15 minutes from all the main attractions. Cannot recommend enough

Suosittelen MonkBridge Housea kaikille Yorkissa majoittuville. Bnb sijaitsee hieman keskustan ulkopuolella, mutta matka keskustaan on nopea ja selkeä. Myös julkisella liikenteellä pääsee helposti kulkemaan. Majoitus itsessään oli loistava. Huone oli todella siisti, kotoisa ja kauniisti sisustettu. Kaikki oli selkeästi mietitty loppuun asti, jonka ansiosta yöpyminen sujui täysin ongelmitta. Omistajat Fiona ja Paul ovat hyvin ystävällisiä ja avuliaita. Paulin kokkaama aamiainen oli erittäin kattava ja herkullinen, josta löytyy varmasti jokaiselle jotakin. Kokonaisuutena yöpymiseni MonkBridge Housessa oli erittäin miellyttävä ja tulen varmasti yöpymään siellä uudestaan, jos vierailen Yorkissa uudelleen.

We were made very welcome by the very friendly and helpful owners. Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast with plenty of choices. Ideal location for visiting the historic centre of York.

Lovely place, centrally located.

One of those fabulous guest houses one wishes to return to. We were made to feel very welcome and even managed a stolen few hours reading in the garden. Breakfast was a treat and guests spoiled for choice. Homemade sausages, bagels and waffles, all worth a try and perfect poached eggs cooked to order! Location was great for walking into town and parking made it the perfect location for a busy graduation.

Loved the breakfasts—lots of choices. The hosts were lovely. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. It was an easy walk to restaurants, pubs and York City Center. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! 1!

My friend and I were doing the Way of the Roses cycle route - secure bike shed in the garden and impeccable attention to detail across the whole stay, we loved it

WiFi was very sketchy and did not work most of the time but did click in every so often. The house and location are great as a jumping off point anywhere in the Lake District.

On arrival we asked for early check in which was granted very friendly people the hotel rooms are emaculate. And have everything you can think of Breakfast beautiful and again the selection amazing Stayed in York many times have to say this is the best hotel and will definitely be returning. PERFECT. This property is just lovely and it is an easy walk to the Walls and the city within. Paul & Fiona are the nicest people and perfect hosts. Our room was excellent, our bed was comfy, everything within our room and the whole building was spotless. Couldn't fault it. Paul's cooking skills are second to none. The daily breakfast outshone anything we had during our 30 day UK adventure. Fiona was super helpful with travel tips. Parking was easy. Can't fault this property. We would definitely stay there again (and my husband isn't a fan of B&B style accommodation).

Everything was perfect, from the hosts, to the room, and location. Lovely little garden, spacious room and nice bathroom, all very clean. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back!
