I never normally get hotel breakfast as it's so often a disappointment. But A-rosa gothisches was fantastic. Room was clean and very nicely themed in mediaeval style with thick wooden beams and classy furnishings. Bed was very comfortable, but awkwardly was just two single beds pushed together without even a king mattress topper or king sized sheet to mask the gap. Air conditioner didn't do anything other than move a bit of air around, only time we could cool the room below 25 degrees was opening windows at night, which was very noisy until around midnight. View was nice out the window into the square (although construction on the building next door ruined it a bit that's not the fault of the hotel). Shower door leaked badly as I discovered after flooding the bathroom. Showerhead was on a hose style, an overhead rain style one would be a nice simple improvement that would also minimise water egress out the door. All staff were very polite, many were genuinely nice and helpful. Parking was easy, once you found the hotel. Great location just off a main square of the old town.

When we arrived we were given a ticket to park the car in their own private car park, which was very helpful. The room was spacious and the amenities were well kept and clean. A very good location also, as it was placed in a beautiful part of Wernigerode but also only 10 minutes walk away from 2 of the Harz Railway stations and a mainline station. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Sehr schönes Hotel in top Lage. Das Personal ist extrem nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sauber und nett eingerichtet. Das Frühstück reichhaltig von sehr guter Qualität und wird in einem sehr schönem Raum gereicht.

Ich bin sehr oft und gerne in diesem Hotel, doch die Geräte im Fitnessbereich sind entweder defekt oder in einem nicht in einwandfreiem Zustand.

Zimmer war wirklich zu kalt und man könnte die Heizung nicht ändern! Rest war alles perfekt!!

This is one of the best hotels that I have stayed. It has plenty of character. The staff are fantastic, the hotel is spotless. The resturant is very good. Should I return to Wernigerode, I will be staying here.

Arosa is a beautiful Hotel. My problem was that our bed was absolutely terrible. We sank in on both sides and had to sleep on an incline. I complaint the next morning and Lin at the reception assured my that they will fix the problem and I will have a wonderful night. Guess what nothing happened. A service like this was ok in DDR times but not nowadays und especially not for € 250.00 per night. Otherwise the location and the hotel itself is beautiful.
