Amazing service, the shuttle bus was super helpful as well! The food was great and the free flow food/drinks were also great.

I can’t recommend this place enough. From the moment you step foot through the door you are welcomed and looked after. The private onsen in room had amazing views, the free snack and drinks perfect before dinner. We had the grill option. Special shout out to our amazing chef Mitsuharu. Not only was he an amazing chef he shared his knowledge about Japan and its food. Also thanks to him for honouring us with special origami gift made by his daughter. I would highly recommend staying and we will be back. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel who made our stay so pleasurable.

Tive apenas um contratempo, quando cheguei na estação de Hakone, fiquei sem internet e não consegui ligar para o Hotel me buscar e nem consegui acessar o Google Maps para saber a localização. Consegui a ajuda de uma senhora muito gentil que tentou ligar para o hotel para me ajudar a me localizar, mas a atendente não soube me dizer como faria para chegar ao hotel. O hotel ficava a exatamente 5 minutos da estação a pé, no entanto esperamos mais de 40 minutos no sol para conseguirmos a ajuda de um motorista de uma van de um hotel que conseguiu falar no Hotel e informar onde estávamos até uma funcionária ir nos buscar. Neste instante já estávamos cansados e irritados, pois percebemos que não houve uma boa vontade do hotel em nos encontrar, somente foram nos buscar após o contato deste motorista.

This is a beautiful luxury hotel with very attention staff. The food is amazing. We had the teppanyaki dinner and the kaiseki Japanese breakfast which was the perfect combination. The teppanyaki dinner is considered "western," while the other choice is the Japanese kaiseki style which one should try at least once while in Japan. The food is art and is breathtaking in beauty. The onsens were beautiful. We tried the public one and both private ones (the rock and the cypress). The cypress one is particularly lovely. The guest lounge that serves drinks and hors d'oeuvres, including very high end Japanese whiskey, is the best that I've seen at any hotel. It doesn't replace a meal but are very good refreshments that rival anything at a 4-5 star hotel. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Gora train station. It provides a shuttle to the Odawara train station where you can catch the shinkansen. Note that the price of the room will depend on the number of guests in the room because the main charge is for the very upscale meals that come with the rooms. The price can vary substantially depending on the day of the week and season as well. Note that Asian hotels are not like American hotels in which the number of guests is allowed to be flexible. It's very important that the number of guests is reported accurately for Asian hotels. This is a perfect place to feel nourished and refreshed.

We booked a double bed private onsen room with this exceptional hotel. Their service and attention to detail, while offering free snacks and drinks at Michelin level together with their Japaneses and Western styled breakfasts was second to none and outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel and the spa where we booked a full body, head and feet massage. One of the best massages in a long time. The staff are very attentive and professional. The hotel is extremely clean and we would have loved to stay longer.

This is one of the best ryokans with private room’s onsen in Hakone.

Amazing property with gorgeous views. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Outdoor spa was used daily. Room amenities were great - shampoos, lotions, face mists, bamboo hairbrush, drinks etc. Had a chance to visit the spa and highlight recommend for a relaxing massage. Restaurant was above expectations and chef made it a memorable experience for us. We will be visiting again.

This was one of the best relaxation hotels that we ever stayed. Everything was beyond our expectations and indeed impressed us. Right from check in where the staff was very friendly and helpful and patiently explaining the premises. One of them accompanied us to our room and explained everything to us on the way as well as inside the room. The room was spacious, well equipped, and the view to the mountain was breath taking (West Building on 6th floor). The hot tub on the terrace was an amazing experience (be careful with the hot water and its temperature; 41c was set for us). The "Free Flow" lounge was indeed fantastic including the snacks, deserts, as well as variety of drinks from ginger ale and tonic soda all the way to red/white wines, number of Japanese whisky, as well as Sake. We put Hakone and this hotel intentionally as the last leg of our 2 week trip to Japan so that we could relax before flying back to Canada.

What an amazing stay! Everything was so clean and well taken care of. I've recommend this property to all of my friends and family. Dinner was amazing! The room with the private onsen was so relaxing.

Absolutely beautiful property in a great location would definitely stay again. Though, we just felt organisation was lacking, informed them of my coeliac disease which they clarified over messages, but then on check in was asked again did we have any food allergies as if nothing had actually been recorded against our booking. And then on the morning of check out we went out for a walk, staff asked us our room number and if they could clean it and we informed them we were checking out that morning and had booked the shuttle bus. We clearly weren’t checking out right then as we didn’t have our bags or anything and the shuttle bus wasn’t for another 2 hours or so but a staff member chased us down outside to inform us that we still had an outstanding balance owing for city taxes as if we were leaving without paying.

This is certainly a five star hotel. The location is beautiful with spectacular views of the mountains. The sound of an adjacent creek was very calming. The staff was courteous and helpful. The food at the restaurant and guest lounge was delicious. Definitely I will be returning as soon as I can.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Hakone. The room was spacious, and I particularly loved having a private onsen. The atmosphere perfectly captured the charm of a traditional Japanese ryokan, making the stay feel really special. Breakfast was also beautifully presented and a great way to start the day. I would happily stay here again. My only recommendation for future guests would be to book dinner in advance. We were unable to dine at the hotel in the evening and struggled to find restaurants nearby with availability. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay.
