Not very well cleaned and staff does not really care when informed. Room had yellow grain like the specks on bed and controller when arrived, had ants, and restroom was not fully cleaned. Had to ask staff several times to change the sheets as they just tried to dust off the sheets and say it was changed and there was still specks and yellow stain. Breakfast was very small compared to 4 other similarly priced hotels. Would recommend Fernandina hotel

The property itself is well-kept and has a relaxed, natural feel that matches the Galápagos vibe perfectly. The staff at Verde Azul genuinely go above and beyond. They were warm, helpful, and knowledgeable about the islands — offering tips on the best snorkeling spots, tortoise reserves, and local restaurants that we never would have found on our own. Nothing felt like too much trouble for them. That personal touch is what sets this place apart from larger, more impersonal hotels

We stayed at Hotel Verde Azul for seven nights and greatly enjoyed its laid-back atmosphere. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well, the bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, the breakfast hours were good (6:30-9:00), the hammocks by the pool were perfect for chilling in the shade during the hot afternoons, the walk down to the waterfront was an easy one, and, best of all the staff were very kind and helpful.

Location good, in residential area but close to centre. Changed our room at our request which we appreciated. Small swimming pool. Lovely hammocks by the pool. Staff spoke very little English so difficult to speak to them (we didn’t speak Spanish either!). I’m a vegetarian and don’t eat eggs, used google translate to say this but still given eggs. Breakfast very basic, roll, fruit and scrambled eggs. Coffee and fruit juice (watered down). Place is clean and cheap, just a little better than a hostel but you get what you pay for.

Breakfast was served fresh - upon arrival to dining area, eggs and plantain were fried. Bun super fresh. Coffee delicious. No ocean view, but pool was lovely to relax in after a long day exploring. Young lady at Reception, Andrea, couldn't be more helpful. A pleasure to deal with. She arranged airport transfer for me. Also helped carry bags up to room.

My room was clean! Within walking distance to almost everything I wanted to do. Breakfast was made fresh every day. The staff was extremely kind and helpful! My only complaint was the rooster that was nearby! Other than that it was quiet.

The rooms were big and well kept. The staff was awesome. The location was quiet and we could walk to the beach.

Excellent value for money. Staff were always friendly & ready to help. Rooms were spacious with en suites & tv. & I enjoyed relaxing by the pool at the end of each day & dipping in to cool off. It’s not the most luxurious hotel in the world & breakfast is basic, but what would you expect for £209 for 6 nights over new year. If you want 5* star facilities & treatment go & pay £200 per night at one of the more luxurious hotels nearby, I struggle to believe some of the negative reviews I read here before I stayed. It is probably the best value hotel I’ve ever stayed in! The location is quiet & peaceful but an easy 5 min walk from the town centre & seafront.
