Fantastic property, great staff, well appointed unit. My only issue was no hair dryer.

The room was newly renovated, but was not clean. No replenishment of supplies, towels, room cleaning or making of beds. They took our money for a four night stay and disapeared. We asked at the desk why cleaning wasn't done in our room after the first night and they informed us that this was a "Family Run" hotel and mostly "Family" stayed it this hotel and they are all aware of their cleaning policies. I told him that I am not family, but expected better for the cost of the room. I "requested" cleaning for the rest of our stay. They cleaned the room (but not the bathroom as per photo) and left us fresh towels the next day. The following day, no cleaning was done. No staff attempted to do anything in our room. As well the guy at the check in counter on the day we arrived had such strong body odor I had to stad 3 feet back from the desk as I was checking in. I would not recommend this Motel to anyone by FAMILY MEMBERS of the owner.

It was nice to be in town close to mini golf & everything. However highway noise can be also loud at times. Beds were ok but corners in shower etc need more cleaning as well as dusting areas. From a safety aspect a high indoor lock was not there.

This room was…kinda gross. It was very obvious the bathroom hadn’t had a proper clean in a while. There was dirt and gunk built up on the shower doors and tracks and a happy face drawn into the soap scum on the shower that showed in the steam. If you’re going to renovate and you choose to put in glass shower doors, you need to commit to cleaning and maintaining them properly. There were spots of sticky on the counter and also sticky spots on the floors in the main area. It made me question how deeply cleaned the rooms are on a regular basis. It was ok for a more budget friendly option and fairly well located. With some better attention to cleaning would be 5 stars .

Everything was great except the sink wouldn’t drain. Otherwise everything was perfect and I’d love to stay here again!

The room, was nicely updated, very clean and close to what we were in Parksville for. A/C worked well. Although we didn’t use it, there was a nice outdoor seating area to relax in.

Lovely place to stay !

When we got to our room, the window was dirty. We cleaned the window ourselves and the floors didn’t look very clean so we just cleaned the unit ourselves. We bought a bunch of cleaners and cleaned it. All the reviews talked about the units having dirty floors, and it seems to be the same ongoing thing. After three days, we asked them to clean our unit and we expected clean towels and sheets. We received clean towels no bathmat had to ask for toilet paper to be replace. We purchase our own paper towels, and the sheets were not changed. The only other thing was there seem to be a few dope smokers in a unit a couple doors down from us. That was disappointing. It just stunk..

Bed was comfortable room was clean staff was friendly. Option to play mini golf a fun bonus. Would stay again.

We had two couples staying in one room. It was nice that the 2nd queen size bed was in a completely separate room with a door. We also enjoyed playing mini-golf across the street!

The Tide’s Out is a motel with a convenient location off Island Hwy. It’s a basic, no frills (no breakfast) accommodation yet comfortable place to stay, with free Wi-fi. It’s currently still undergoing some renovations though it didn’t affect our 2 nights stay. Check-in was quick, staff were nice and attentive. Our room was clean, with a complete kitchen; a big screen TV; a most comfortable King sized bed with a very thick mattress; newly updated bathroom with extra large fluffy towels and toiletries provided. Bonus - entrance to play at Paradise Mini-golf across the street is free all day.

Lovely friendly staff, clean comfortable room, and nice outdoor seating area. Great location, but we did have a bit of traffic noise. We would definitely stay again! Great value.

Very nice place. Comfy bed, huge TV. Very modern look. Dog Friendly. Pull down shade was great so not bright in morning. Cons, right off highway so a little noisy. Some red algae build up in base of shower.

The King room does not accommodate 3 people who are adult size, even if one is considered a “child”. There is no peephole in the door which lessens security if someone knocks. Good location.

Accommodating staff and very friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. Will recommend to my friends and family.

Pros: staff were very friendly and accommodated early check-in. Kids loved the free mini golf. Cons: we booked a non-smoking room and the room had a heavy smoke/musty smell. Our child’s feet were very dirty after crawling on the floor for a few minutes. We bought cleaning wipes and air freshener to use to be comfortable for the night. Would not recommend for families staying with young children.

Clean updated room and very friendly staff

The family suit was very spacious. Check in was quick and easy and the property was very dog friendly. We enjoyed the free mini golf and being so close to the Beach. The room amenities were very basic. No regular coffee, weird toilet paper. No low lighting/lamps only very bright overhead highlighting. Also, so water bottle fill station onsite. Overall, a great value in Parksville if you aren’t too caught up in the small details.
