Great place, nice people, well located, clean, spacious

This is a great place to lay your head in Hopkins at an affordable price. Staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. I stayed in a private room with shared shower. The room was adequate and a powerful fan for cooling. There was a dog in the house next door that barked incessantly in front of my window. Obviously not the fault of the hostel, but something to be aware of. I wear heavy duty earplugs when I sleep and the dogs yaps pierced right through them. All in all though, good place to stay with a friendly vibe.

Really nice place where everything is just simple!

Funky Dodo is an economical choice for travelers who don’t need much. The property is really lovely. It’s very close to the beach, restaurants, ATM, and grocery stores. There’s a nice courtyard to sit in. We had a private room so I can’t speak to the condition of the shared rooms. We were surprised to learn that there is no air conditioning. They did give us an extra fan. Most nights the temp was ok, but our last night it was too hot to sleep. WiFi connection was spotty. Sometimes there’s hot/warm water, sometimes not. Our biggest complaint is that we bought a bunch of Belizean chocolate bars to bring back as gifts. We put them in the communal fridge to avoid melting, wrapped in a bag with our names on it, and someone stole half of them, and put a partially eaten one back in the bag.

Nice place to stay. Close to the beach. Fun to meet backpackers and share with them.

Affordable option in Hopkins. Washrooms are shared which is what you pay for and coffee is complimentary, water refills are very cheap so helps reduce plastic which is great and great location.

After we arrived we straight bookend third night. Could stay longer! Whole Hopkins area were nice, good restaurants and friendly helpful people there. It’s safety to hitchhike there. Very nice people at the hostel too, nice shared areas. Easy to get to Cockscomb in the jungle to maybe see some jaguars. No AC at rooms so that’s something you need to get along without.

Great place and close to many restaurants, shops and travel agencies! Everything is open-air so the mosquitoes are having a feast!

Loved staying at the funky dodo hostel, all the staff were super kind, great location for walking around town, a short stumble to the Carribean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It's what you would expect of a backpackers hostel. Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. Only negative was limited parking, but then again, it was a backpackers place.
