Bedroom was in need of a lot of work, including a new bathroom. The bath itself was stained from being so old. Photos can be misleading, as our bedroom looked over a flat roof and carpark. Jacuzzi not working in the pool, nor the sauna. For the money, you’d expect a lot more.

A thoroughly pleasant stay (long weekend), polite and friendly staff. Breakfast hearty, varied and good quality. Room was nicely appointed and a comfortable bed. Hotel parking is just enough. Good to see that provision is made for destination charging for EVs but the price/kWh is very high.

Cosy single room in old part of hotel, I was on the top floor - had a fantastic view, may get very hot in the summer as there was no air conditioning and it got a lot of sun. Windows do open though. New bath/shower. Had iron, steamer and ironing board. No mini fridge, but there was a kettle. The room I had did have very steep stairs to get to top floor - probably not great for medium/ big suitcases, small carry on suitcase was fine for me to carry up. Breakfast was marvellous, loads of options on buffet/ to order and the staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful. Beautiful downstairs reception with comfy couches, board games and a bar. Pool was excellent. Wish I could have stayed longer, a lovely escape from hectic London.

This hotel is lovely. The decor is beautiful and the rooms are stunning. The only niggle we had was that the bathroom didnt have a shower (it had a beautiful freestanding bath and gorgeous period features) but if you wanted to get up and out the door you need the shower. Breakfast menu and other options were of a high quality. Loved the fact you could boil your own eggs! Just some really nice touches. Would stay again if I find myself in Falmouth.

A beautiful place, delicious breakfast though items were missing like bowls, spoons, milk, beans, sausages. We thought about going to get the milk for them. Disappointingly the steam room was out of order. Sadly, they no longer serve dinner but do offer small plates. The staff are fab, though one very noisy waitress at breakfast bashes things as she clears up. There’s a fire to warm you on chilly evenings. Enjoyed the games on offer with our nightcap. Suggestion: A gutter around the pool would be so helpful especially at the deep end there’s no place to hold on or rest. Used to be a great atmosphere in the evenings.. but as in life, things have changed.

Good parking, pleasant staff, clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast options were excellent. Over bath shower was a challenge without grab rail and water pressure was quite low and took time to get to temperature. Good selection of toiletries. A soft close and better fitting toilet seat would be an improvement.

We had a wonderful overnight stay for my husband's 70th birthday. Our room was amazing and very big and the bathroom was great, especially the powerful shower and lovely toiletries. We had a swim in the lovely pool and we also went in the jacuzzi. I also went in the sauna. The breakfast was fantastic; such a wide range of choice and the food was excellent. We would definitely recommend the Merchants Manor and would certainly stay there again.

Staff could not have been more professional and helpful, a real credit to the property. Well located close to Falmouth, plenty of parking. The room was lovely, plenty of storage and the bed comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were poor and not sufficient. Breakfast selection was excellent, and the food was amazing! The poached eggs were magnificent! Speed of service was slow but being out of season that is understandable. Less understandable are the massive cobwebs in the dining room. The lounge was comfortable, and the real fire added to the atmosphere; very welcome after a long day outside. The pool is an added bonus, but none of the underwater lights were working. Neither were any of the sauna lights were working which can be dangerous.

Comfortable charming hotel, clean room and good facilities. Staff were friendly - especially in the bar. My colleague and I were given upgrades to bigger rooms which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was fine for continental options, however the cooked options were £14.99 each which I thought was a little steep.

Spacious room and really comfortable bed. Easy parking with benefit of EV rapid charger in site. We enjoyed the pool. Staff were great.

Room and amenities

All of the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. They have created a wonderful atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The place was clean and comfortable. And the gift as you leave was a wonderful touch.

Lovely and very professionally & efficiently run hotel. Loved the cozy atmosphere in the bar, special mention to Maja for her friendliness. Really enjoyed having a decent sized swimming pool and being able to have a swim before breakfast. Our only - slight - gripe was breakfast in that we had to point out to the breakfast waiting staff that the bread had run out 20 minutes ago - they hadn't noticed - but this was rectified immediately. The breakfast service was also quite slow and the coffee was cold. But, all in all a fabulous stay and I've already recommended the hotel to a friend who's planning on going to Falmouth.

Excellent stay spoilt by demands for money prior to arrival and additional £25 request at booking in without which could not book in and not refunded immediately after check out. Why do you need an additional £25 and why do you still have it? For this reason alone I would think twice about using the hotel again. It’s sad and completely unnecessary.
