Whilst the staff and facilities were good, I was disappointed with the food. I had the coronation chicken terrine starter.which had a large piece of chicken skin in it. The staff offered me a replacement which I declined and they did not charmed for it. I later asked if I could have fresh fruit for dessert which the said would be available for breakfast. At breakfast the only fresh fruit available was watermelon. I may be picky but I feel that these minor items should be catered for.

Lovely clean room, comfortable bed, good food and a lovely patio area for meals.

Breakfast was freshly cooked; not rushed. Room was delightful. Staff were lovely overall. I had an issue with a pot of tea for 2 ordered at the bar in the evening. It came as a large teapot with just one tea bag in it. It was very weak so I asked a member of the restaurant staff for another tea bag which never materialised. Fortunately as we were staying at the hotel we were able to collect a tea bag from the room!

We had a two night stay here for our anniversary. Cannot fault anything. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast was a great experience lots of choices from cold and hot options. Lovely garden to sit and relax. Had a lovely walk along the canal. Overall a great experience.

Olde world premises with creaky floors and off-standard stairs. Plenty of character and a certain charm with rally nice staff.

Comfy bed, clean, great friendly staff, excellent breakfast

Thought it was a double bed but it was two singles, not locked together. Very uncomfortable. Carpet in the room was stained. Room too dark with all lights on. Breakfast: my toast was hardly toasted. Had to ask for butter. Had to ask for a side plate. Didn’t expect to be in an annex. All in all this was an expensive stay.

Everything was excellent. Great room, very spacious and well laid out.
