I wanted to love this hotel, but it fell short. We stayed at 4 locations during our trip to BCN and the surrounding area and this was the most expensive, with the least value. We booked the Terrace room for its outdoor space, which was more expensive than the standard rooms. The day before our stay, the hotel reached out saying they had a room upgrade available which was much nicer than the “first floor, interior-facing, enclosed atmosphere” room we had booked. That upgrade was over €500 per night EXTRA and would have more than doubled the cost of our stay. It was off-putting to tell us our room was “meh” and then offer something twice as expensive before we even arrived. The room itself was a tiny shoebox with a tiny bathroom. There was barely enough room for the queen sized bed. The terrace room has an outdoor patio - which is why we booked it - but when we arrived it was completely covered in bird poop. There was not a single piece of furniture that was usable. Not their fault, but we had to ask several times for the patio to be cleaned so it was usable. The pool is tiny with only 3 lounge beds that are exposed to the sun. These were always full. The restaurant menu was disappointingly small. The location was also a bit outside the main shopping areas. We stayed closer to the Barcelona Cathedral on our second leg in BCN and found that area more lively. And to top it off, on the final morning of our stay, at around 8 am, someone entered our room while we were sleeping.

Great location, nice staff, good amenities. Thin sliding door in the bathroom isn’t the most soundproof. Rooftop pool on the smaller size.

Beautiful design, good size rooms and the loveliest bathroom. Such a lovely hotel, very well located and the rooftop pool has a great view. An extra seat in the room would have been a plus, and a well stocked mini bar. Really enjoyed our stay and wish we’d stayed longer!

The hotel was amazing. Very safe, easy to hail a cab out front too. Helpful staff. Beautiful rooftop bar & pool. Fabulous restaurant. Great happy hour. Free water & coffee for the room. I’ll definitely come back.

Nice place to stay while in Spain. The hop on/hop off bus stopped RIGHT out front, which is a HUGE perk! When exploring a new city, I always get one of those bus tickets. It takes you everywhere you want to see for one small price, but this one will drop you at your hotel!. Really also appreciated the free coffee, tea, and bottled water in the room. Would absolutely love to stay here again.

Absolutes Spitzenhotel – Erwartungen komplett übertroffen! Wir waren rundum begeistert und würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen. Unsere Erwartungen wurden in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen! Frühstück: Unfassbar toll! Es gab eine riesige Auswahl an warmen und kalten Speisen. Atmosphäre: Obwohl das Hotel sehr groß ist, hat man überall einen ruhigen Platz gefunden und konnte die entspannte Atmosphäre voll genießen. Service & Sauberkeit: Die Kellner waren wahnsinnig nett und aufmerksam. Das Zimmer war absolut super sauber. Ausstattung & Lage: Die Terrasse ist klasse, der Fitnessraum top und die Location einfach perfekt. Vielen Dank für die gelebte Gastfreundschaft, die Sauberkeit und die tollen Annehmlichkeiten. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Borneta. I would absolutely stay here again. We really appreciated the friendly staff, lovely amenities, beautiful rooftop, and proximity to Gothic Quarter. Great experience! The bar staff made some local recommendations for us including a nearby cocktail bar called Aldea which wound up being one of our favorite experiences. Don’t miss the morning cappuccinos!

Wonderful hotel, the staff was helpful in giving recommendations and booking reservations. The pool on the roof is small but it’s a lovely place to relax with views of the city and the “cocktail hour” with a free daily drink and croquette was wonderful!

Exceptional comfortable and well run

Most of the staff (restaurant / rooftop) were not very hopeful and quite rude when asked questions. Especially the breakfast staff, super disappointing. However, a few of the front desk workers were pleasant. Warning, the standard room is VERY small. Definitely uncomfortable with two suitcases accompanying us.

Great great location! The service was absolutely amazing, have to point out 2 people from the front desk that made it even more special was Mano and Luci. That helped out with everything. Thank you so much, we would definitely stay there again
