Arriving from a chaotic environment, I found peaceful and relaxing environment.

WiFi didn’t work much. The hotel is tired.

This hotel positions itself at the top end of a limited range of options in Asmara, with prices to match. As such, I expected a better standard than I got. The location 4km out of town is inconvenient (although good for the airport), the staff weren't especially friendly, after 20 years the rooms were worn and need an upgrade and the prices of the meals in the restuarant expensive. I'll try somewhere else next time.

Superb service and excellent buffet

Oh dear. A really mixed bag. Positives: 1. Airport shuttle with a truly amazing greeter at the airport. Phenomenal guy. 2.Beds have terrific mattresses and good bedding. You’ll sleep well. 3.Rooms are specious; have kettles for hot water and bottled water is free. 4. Obliging and kind staff. Negatives: 1. WiFi barely functions. Print off all key documents for onward travel PRIOR to coming here. Warn your office communication may be spotty. Forget viewing large files or streaming a movie. 2. Skimpy amenities. I was given ONE TEABAG next to the kettle for a 3-day stay. Huh? 3. My room wasn’t serviced with fresh towels and a made bed until I spoke to the front desk. 4. Apparently shampoo and bath gel are supplied only upon request. I could have REALLY USED those things on night one when my luggage failed to arrive. Separately a tray from room service on my corridor sat the hallway for TWO DAYS. Inexcusable. In short, they need to professionalize BIG TIME to justify their hotel class.

The hotel needs a good management. It’s dusty, stuff is lazy and incompetent.
