“A Hidden Gem” This beautiful, family-owned hotel is tucked away in a stunning location — a bit hard to get to, with parking a distance away and plenty of steps to climb, but absolutely worth it. The family who runs it are wonderfully kind, attentive, and genuinely care for their guests like family. Every detail feels personal, warm, and full of heart.

Great hotel in the center with great service and great staff

Great place- excellent breakfast. Loved the location. Very nice workers who helped arrange transportation from Tangier and to Fes.

Beautiful clean, attractive, with new furnishings, helpful hosts who speak excellent English and delicious breakfast. Note that because this a historic neighborhood and riad, there is a steep walk to get to the building and internal staircases to reach the rooms, so you may need to call ahead to ask for help with luggage.

Had a disappointing stay. During checkout I had 3 big bags and a child, but the front desk staff didn’t even offer to open the door or help at all. He saw us struggling with the bags, taking to the car that was parked downhill with so many staircases. I also asked for an early packed breakfast, but they only prepared for 2 people instead of 3, and just said “sorry.” Very unfriendly service.

Great location and wonderful staff. Rooms were clean and comparable with good AC. Rooms were fairly small but that was apparent from pictures when we booked. El Ceilo restaurant across the street was fantastic. Very helpful staff that arranged transport from Tangier and then on to Fes.

Great place for a one-night stay in Chefchaouen. Clean, renovated property, great location just a 5-minute walk to the Médina and Kasbah.

El dar muy personalizado y totalmente renovado. Nos dieron una habitación especial con doble cuarto lo que hizo nuestra estancia muy agradable. El desayuno en su terraza es muy agradable y está en la Medina pero en una zona tranquila pero accesible a pie enseguida de la calle principal Hassan I. Excelente Dar!

Nice rooftop breakfast, staffs are friendly, parking can be challenging but thats true with most places in the middle of the medina.

The hotel is beautiful. Every little detail is so nice. We were greeted warmly and helped to our room. The staff was so helpful and kind. The location is great. Walking distance to many restaurants and the main square. The breakfast was also really good. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Dar was beautiful and comfortable

We stayed for 2 nights at Dar MD, and we had a toddler with us. Our stay was very relaxing and comforting. The host ensured that we had our best time in Chefchaouen. The El Cielo restaurant recommendation was the cherry on top, suggested by them, and served the best food we had in town. Perfect location, very nice breakfast, excellent view from the rooftop, perfectly clean, and true to the description of the rooms. Recommended!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel idéalement situé en plein cœur de la médina de Chefchaouen. Le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse offre une vue imprenable sur la ville, un vrai moment de détente dès le matin. Le personnel était très accueillant et serviable, ce qui a grandement contribué à la qualité du séjour. La chambre était propre et joliment décorée, avec une ambiance typiquement locale et chaleureuse. Deux petits points à améliorer : la salle de bain est un peu étroite et il manquait un tapis de bain. Mis à part cela, tout était parfait. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Maison d'hôte située dans une petite ruelle accessible à pied. Il faut se garer en bas au parking et c'est a 2 min de marche. Très propre, ça sentait bon ! Très jolie déco et personnel sympathique. Petit dej copieux et varié qui se prend sur la terrasse en haut avec une superbe vue ! Elle se situe a côté d'un petit resto très sympa El Cielo. On est à 5min à pied de la vieille ville et juste à côté d'une petite cascade.

El Dar nos encantó, un lugar muy acogedor, limpio y agradable. Nos recibió Yassir, nos ayudó a llevar las maletas y fue siempre super amable, muy atento y al pendiente de que todo estuviera bien y no nos hiciera falta nada. Nos recomendó un restaurante para cenar la primera noche, nos ayudó a hacer la reservación y se aseguró de que sí nos recibieran. Muchas gracias Yassir y a todo el personal por hacer nuestra estancia muy agradable en Chefchaouen.

The toilet was very smelly. No place to hang the used towels

Chefchouen! A favorite place to visit! This Riad was very comfortable and beautiful. It’s nestled in a quiet area right off the main market area. It is quite a climb up stairs to get to the door. But we had many staff ready and willing to grab your luggage and help you get up to the Riad. Chefchouen is the Blue Pearl! We loved this city. More of a small town feel. Every Riad will welcome you with the tea service. WE LOVED THE MINT TEA!! This Riad is small and cozy. The staff is so kind and hospitable. It’s a very easy and short walk to shopping area. You definitely will not go wrong staying here. Our room was very nice and comfortable.
