Our initial room was clean, spacious, quiet, a comfortable bed, microwave, under counter fridge, kettle and toaster. Parking close to room. However we had a problem with the shower pressure so had to change rooms. The staff facilitated this immediately and were very happy to do so. This room again had the same things albeit a smaller fridge. Also had a flyscreen door which is useful in Lightning Ridge. The pub is on the same premises as the accommodation and has a number of places to sit including a large outdoor area and everyone we met we found to be very friendly. We didn’t use the pool this time, but did on our previous visit and it was clean and is a nice area to sit. The on site restaurant is only open for dinner and has a limited menu, so we chose to eat out one night at the local bowling club which is within easy walking distance. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and the menu large and varied. We have stayed at The Outback Resort before and so yes we would return again.

Floors were very dirty in the rooms with carpet tiles only partially covering the floor. Couldn’t walk barefoot on to the carpet from the bathroom as you picked up all the dirt from the floor.

Good place to stay and great location for looking around Lightning Redge.

Great location, quiet and clean. Appreciated the car wash bay 😊 Staff at reception were very friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant weren’t open the 2 nights we were there.

Only an overnight stay and not many options. Room a bit dusty musty as you might expect in Lightning Ridge. We had a pleasant meal in the bistro in the resort.

The bed mattresses need replacing and other than the ac units being changed I couldn’t see and changes since I stayed there 25 years ago.

The whole experience of staying there was great cleanliness, staff, amenities and the pool wat a relief only hiccup was the potential snake presence so they shifted rooms for us so no problems.

The girl in the office was sensational

The airconditioning was great, it even had a fan, which was valuable to us with such hot weather. The room was fine, shower was good.

Highly do not recommend this place. Our car got broken into and apparently it was the second one within a week. The motel had no cameras or any type of security. Wouldn’t recommend if you want somewhere safe to stay

The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are lovely. We had everything we needed and the park is perfectly located to take in the sites at LR.

Definitely not a resort. Drains smelt like sulfer (egg smell) No coffee/tea supplied in room Felt like we walked into a serial killers lair. Ants everywhere Linen old and oddly prickly Not recommended for the comfort Definitely overpriced Staff on arrival - very friendly
