Perfect stay in Calgary

We had a great experience

The hotel was great. Location was terrific for our needs.

The service was not to the level we excepted for a Fairfield Marriot. Would not recommend this location given the lack of service and cleaning of rooms. We had to ask for basic things like towels and toilet paper.

I am a loyal Marriott member and regularly choose Marriott properties for both family travel and business. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this particular location based on our experience. The level of customer service and attention to basic guest needs was well below the standard I have come to expect from Marriott. I requested housekeeping every other day during our five-night stay, yet our room was not cleaned. It reached the point where I had to request toilet paper before we completely ran out. Basic room maintenance and cleanliness should not be something guests have to chase down, especially at this price point. We stayed only because I was travelling with my family and did not want the disruption of moving everyone. Had this been a business trip, I would have checked out and found another hotel. The room itself also had some challenges. The curtains are not true blackout curtains, which may seem minor, but during July with extended daylight hours, it significantly impacts comfort and sleep quality. The location is convenient for the Stampede, which is a positive. I also want to recognize the valet team(only parking options), who were excellent, and the breakfast attendant, who was friendly, hardworking, and did a great job keeping everything stocked. That said, the lack of housekeeping, follow-through of the front desk team, and overall service overshadowed those positives.

Thanks to the hotel staff for providing my request for an accessible room. Everything was fine except there was an issue with the walk-in shower. There is a 4-inch gap between the bottom of the shower curtain and the floor, which results in water splashing out and flooding the bathroom floor while bathing. Have reported to the front desk, and the maintenance staff visited our room to assess the situation. He said it's a problem being overlooked when renovating the bathroom to accommodate accessible customers. He provides us with towels to line across the shower so that water leaks out will not flood the rest of the bathroom floor. Hopefully, management will have a permanent solution to fix it.

Great place great location only thing better would have been closer to trains. Still not that far. Parking is horrible @ $42 a day is too much but what do you do when there is no street parking for more than 2 hours.

A poorly managed hotel, for the price it’s a big disappointment. There were no front desk staff when we checked in, behind about 10 other waiting guests. No way to contact anyone either. After 25 min wait finally someone arrived. Twice we encountered issues with accessing the front doors after hours. Notice says to ring the bell but both times no one answered. Luckily the first time another guest let us in so we could check in on the 2nd floor, why not the ground floor? Second time we came home late and there were 4 guests whose room keys wouldn’t let them into the hotel and the “bell” was not being answered again. We let them in. This isn’t the safest part of Calgary, we saw lots of homelessness and drug issues outside the hotel, not somewhere you want to be stranded at night! Towels and bed linens are tired, threadbare and towels could do with being bleached. Fitted sheet on the bed was too small and nothing worse than waking up on a bare mattress. We were told that housekeeping was every other day, so why don’t they leave you enough paper cups and coffee for 2 people for 2 days? When we did get housekeeping they didn’t replenish Kleenex, take all the used towels or as a courtesy wash the two small glasses. The breakfast is a giant free for all with kids running everywhere, no supervision by parents or even an employee watching all the little fingers poking into thing. I have so much more to say but Expedia is cutting me off. Terrible experience all round.

Can introduce a few more items for breakfast. I should commend the staff at front desk and concierge. They are very helpful and pleasant.

Only issue we had was the air conditioners in the room - they were old, loud (clicking and wheezing) and the air smelled like mold, which made me quite ill. Also the only parking around is Valet Parking which is $40 a day. Hotel was clean, staff were great.

The hotel is very conveniently located close to downtown and many restaurants and shopping. My only complaint is they clean the room every other day which is fine except it would have been nice to have enough coffee left in the room for 2 or 3 days. The breakfast was great lots of options and was where I was able to get my morning coffee. Thank you
