Room was clean, but a little smelly after running the tap. Wardrobe was ridiculously small, like an armoir rather than a wardrobe. My dresses didn’t fit.
Luckily radiator in bedroom was adjustable as it was very warm.
Heaps of tea and coffee but we had to pop our fresh milk onto the windowsill outside as no fridge in room.
Staff were excellent
Slept well despite what appeared to be someone playing (badly) the last post on a cornet, down the hall.

The hotel is lovely, all the staff we interacted with were helpful. The room was as described and had everything we needed for our stay.
I would have given it 5 stars had there not been a wedding on which meant we could not use the bar before going out for dinner as it was full as well as the reception are and the music played late and could be heard in the rooms causing delays in sleeping.

The Queens is a Portsmouth institution in and of itself, but after staying here, my husband (who grew up in Portsmouth) and I have found that it's also amazing! The bar, the restaurant and the hotel itself is both super cozy and top tier

Really great location, building and facilities in a beautiful spot. We were taking a cruise the next day and stayed at this hotel because of the location to the coast. We had ocean views from our room. The hotel itself is very well preserved and very charming. The bar and restaurant were first class as well. Would definitely stay again.
