Nice location near shopping mall and a few good pubs in addition to their own bar and restaurant all within walking distance. Rooms are well designed and comfortable, though the air conditioning unit in our room periodically made grinding sounds — seemed only when adjusting to new set temperature— and did not happen while sleeping at night. Surprisingly quiet in room considering above a busy pub. Parking is not guaranteed and is very limited on premises, and not a-lot on street either— we parked in a pay lot a half plovk away until a space opened in front of the property.

Very happy with the bar and restaurant. Uncomfortable sleep though. The bed was so worn it was visibly concave when I walked in. It was a very uncomfortable night sleep.

Stayed before. I had a lovely room that time It was a bit sticky the day I arrived The air con was difficult to regulate so either too cold or warm The tv only had around 5 channels

Wonderful staff!! I left my wedding ring behind and they will send it back to me in the US. I’m so grateful. I will visit again to thank them in person

Lovely place to stay instead of Dublin before our flight back home. Nice town. Wonderful castle, nice room and can’t beat the food prices at the restaurant.

The town of Swords with the castle,church, tower was interesting. The staff at the old borough was rude from the minute we arrived at around 1 from the citylink bus. Stopped at the registration desk in the bar. All he said is check in is at 2! Okay can we stow our bags? They did. We ate at the restaurant. We've eaten at weatherspoon before in Scotland. This food was not horrible but not good.Couldn't get the Internet to work so ordered at the bar. The wait staff was slow and you could tell they didn't want to be there. Went for a walk around town After lunch tried to get on the WiFi to order a taxi for the next day to the airport. Couldn't. We checked in at the bar again and a nice man checked us in and I asked about the WiFi again. The same person who was rude to us was rude to him and said no Internet I called engineering. The nice man called and ordered us a taxi. We never had WiFi during our stay. Our room while not only dated and in need of paint was as clean as housekeeping could keep it clean. There was a horrible smell of mildew, black mold as soon as you walked in the door. It was definitely coming from the carpet probably from the shower area as that part of the carpet was wet most of the time. The smell permeated the room and made our stay the worst experience we had in our two weeks in Ireland. Overall we had booked this room to be close to Dublin airport before our flight the next day. We liked Swords but this hotel was misrepresented on this website.

This is 100% not a 4 star hotel. The reception is a closet in the bar, the room is tiny, it's a very old building and way too pricey for what you get.

Good location, typical bar/restaurant area. Room was tastefully decorated but had a few scuffs user marks. Would definitely stay again

Clean, comfortable and stylish rooms with a decent sized bathroom and a lift to get to the upper floor. Bathroom also had a tub/shower combo You'll be extremely lucky if you can park at the facility. If not, you have to park about a block away. Ordering food/drinks in the bar/restaurant has to be done from a QR code on the table. Menu is limited and you're virtually invisible to the staff while sitting at your table

“Near the airport” isn’t usually an indication of a good area, but Swords was recommended to me as a place to stay before flying out, by a Dubliner I met while touring the rest of the country. Food, beverage and lodging prices were actually lower in Swords than any of the places I visited in rural western Ireland, though the people were more urban in their conduct. My room had a cathedral ceiling and a fireplace, plus both a bathtub and a shower, and I could park right in front, off-street.

There is no actual "front desk" to check in at. The bar/restaurant handles that. The staff was very helpful during check un and during our one night stay. 10-15 minutes away from airport. Restaurant food was mediocre in quality. Prices for beer/wine and mixed drinks were very inexpensive, the lowest I have seen anywhere. Room was no frills but comfortable. If you need a place for a night or two arriving/leaving Dublin airport this will do it. Parking is limited.

This hotel does not have a reception, you check in at the bar. We arrived to find out that the bar and restaurant were closed due to a plumbing problem. This was an annoyance since we had planned to just eat dinner there and get an early night before our flight home. Instead we had to go out and find somewhere to eat. The room did not have a window, just a skylight, but seemed clean and functional. We left early to head to the airport so no idea if breakfast was available. I would not choose this property again.

Great location. Very walkable and the rooms were surprisingly quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and kind but the room was than expected. It was a bit run down and smelled of old cigarette smoke in the bathroom.

Really good spot to stay in the Swords area. The room was very well appointed and more roomy than some hotels we experienced in Ireland. Really nice bathroom and comfy beds. Very clean and the staff were very helpful — the manager even showed us to our room. No real lobby area in the hotel (check in is at the end of the bar downstairs) and minimal parking onsite, but we didn’t care about that. Area around the hotel is walkable and full of great shops and restaurants. There is even a castle just down the street! The Old Borough is not the Savoy, but it is not pretending to be either. It is a very good hotel and an excellent value. Would definitely stay there again.

Convenient locating for taking public transport to the airport and Dublin. Unfortunately there is a music venue right next door which plays loud music until 2.30am on weekends which did disturb our sleep massively.
