My experience at the Alfred Hotel in Amsterdam was genuinely shocking. From the moment we arrived, the staff were unhelpful and showed little interest in providing even basic customer service. The situation became far worse when my brother’s bag was stolen from the reception area. Not only was this an upsetting incident, but the staff’s response made it even more frustrating—they showed no urgency, concern, or willingness to assist us in any meaningful way.
It was incredibly disappointing to see such a lack of care for guests’ belongings, especially in a space that should feel secure. The staff appeared indifferent and, at times, completely incompetent when it came to handling the situation or carrying out even simple tasks.
Overall, the experience left us feeling unsupported and unwelcome. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a basic standard of service or professionalism.
