Loved the hotel and the staff were fantastic. Also very nice touch with the freezer at reception allowing the guests to grab complimentary ice lollies and ice whenever they needed it in this current heat wave.
The only slight niggle I had was the extra £10 charge to use the swimming pool which could do with a bit of a spruce up. The hotel is wonderful though and will definitely stay again but probably wouldn’t bother with the Spa. The town is also beautiful so the hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy all the local amenities.

The hotel was stunning and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The location is beautiful and ideal for walking in to town centre. The food was very nice, I can’t critique anything about the hotel, staff or service. I gave the amenities 3/5 only because we didn’t stay long enough to use them.

Really disappointing and massively over priced stay. I’m assuming the prices were super inflated because of the David Gray concert. It was boiling hot, no fan in the room and no fridge which is shocking for the price we paid.
It was so hot that fire alarms went over and we stood outside for an hour- no apology, or even acknowledgement of this! Seemingly we waited whilst fire crew opened every door and window in the whole place and told us that the property was too hot (so imagine not even having a fan). Worst nights sleep ever.
No option of spa, breakfast wasn’t worth the cost- again, maybe we expected too much but we saw how great the bar food had looked in the evening.
We had a massive room- it was nicely decorated but the bathroom was so dated and again, so so hot.
If we could have left we would have done! Such a disappointing stay with no sleep.

Great location - 10 min walk along river into Llangollen - superb town. Hotel grounds lovely, good facilities, breakfast good-ish. Room in the modern extension (20 years ago) was upgraded at small-ish cost via auction. Comfortable but creaky bed. No a/c and as bedroom was at front and weather warm, was a bit of noise...England at World Cup on TV for one of the nights! Overall, best looking hotel in town based on our search and very easy parking. Spa looked great, but didn't use.

Overall the experience was very good, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was a good quality, plenty choice and good amounts. Dinner was good but we found it to be quite expensive.
The only downside was I had pre booked a room upgrade through hotels.com which was accepted prior to arrival, when we checked in the room type we had upgraded too was not available so we had too stay in our original room, it did not spoil the weekend
