nice place to go!

Walls were very thin so could hear guests all night

Large rooms, comfy beds, very quite

Well situated. Water would be appreciated in the room and coffee in the hallway would be welcoming.

Good location for visiting the city. Clean, staff was very nice. Food in the Tempo was good.

Parking was terrible, walking a couple of blocks to get to it not really acceptable and then paying $26.

great location. room cleaning offered every 3 rd day- on 5 day stay- not adequate- had to wait long time to get cleaning supplies eg bath soap- towels after r calling front dest.

I definitely would recommend this hotel the rooms and bathrooms are large and updated you will be very pleased stay at the Barrington Hotel

The staff at the Barrington was very kind and helpful and the location was perfect! The restaurant attached was also great. The only points deducted was The room itself, very dated and the double beds old and not comfortable to sleep on. We were unable to find the sauna advertised as well.

Hotel is very dated and there aren’t many amenities. The hotel was full as it was a long weekend, but it wasn’t loud which was good. The pool is very shallow and didn’t feel clean, and the restaurant often closed early. The location is perfect, close to downtown and many attractions. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Stayed for the location but felt the hotel should be nicer for the price we payed.

Hallways were not clean at all and rooms are very dated .Their parking system isn't great

I always book the Barrington when I visit Halifax. It provides the best value from my experience, proximity to the Harbourfront, and Pedway to the Casino/waterfront (especially during the winter) and the Tempo restaurant on the premises has a fantastic staff and the food has always been excellent. The only negatives I have found was no air conditioning in the room and the parking off site. On site with no fee would be a great perk but understand that is impossible. However , the AC issue is fixable. The windows do not open so the room did get stuffy and we woke several times during the night. I don’t recall this always being an issue so there may be AC in some rooms. Also, this would not have been noticed on winter trips. It was definitely a problem this time.

Room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Found the AC didn’t cool the room down as well as we would like.

Clean and spacious

There was no toilet paper in our room when we checked in, the carpet in the hallways is lifting up and if you are not careful you could trip and fall. The pool is like a bathtub and the air-conditioning didnt work so good in one of our rooms.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful.

The check-in was fairly smooth, however we were not given instructions on how to park and what to do with the ticket. The parking there is terrible. You have to go into a Parkade across the street and down half a block. The Parkade is unclear as to where you should park for the hotel. So you have to go into an elevator across a mall across the skywalk into another elevator down another long hallway and then turn right into the hotel lobby. A lot of that was a big search for us not knowing what to do and where to go. Not to mention about a 10 minute walk to the hotel From parking, at $26 a day CDN. I noticed that the hallways were worn in a lot of areas. The carpet was pulling up from the floor, and there were a lot of scuffs on the walls. Finding the room was a bit of a maze. Our room while it was large, we also booked a suite. However, the windows did not open, which was sad because we wanted to hear what was going on outside the hotel, and reduced airflow. I didn’t like how you were given an option to have a room tidied up or bed made daily. They only come in every three days for that. We had to ask for extra towels because they only gave us two. The people next-door to us were smoking in their room and so we could smell it through the adjoining door. Well that’s not a hotel issue. We did bring it up to the front staff and they said they would investigate. The restaurant tempo was great, We ate there three times and enjoyed exceptional service each time.

There was a musty smell coming from the A/C

Great location. Parking right across the street if you need it. Comfy beds.
