Me and my husband recently stayed here. Only a short 10-15 minute walk to the centre, lots of places to dine, quiet and safe. Ascot house was warm, friendly staff, clean & the english breakfast was piping hot. Would highly recommend staying here. We would definitely stay here again.

This B & B was a wonderful place to stay. It was a 20 minute walk to the historic center of York. The area was safe and the walk was easy. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection! Highly recommend!

The manager (owner?) was lovely and gracious when we arrived. The hotel room met our needs and was comfortable. We enjoyed the antiques and old photos reflecting the age of the building. Breakfast was good with excellent service.

Teilweise Selbstbedienung( frisches Obst, Joghurt, Müsli….); warme Speisen werden nach Wunsch zubereitet.

WLAN: im Dachgeschoss sehr schlecht , im EG gut
Unser Zimmer hat eine Gaube und war dadurch nicht vollständig zu verdunkeln; das 2. Fenster ( Velux)hat ein Verdunklungsrollo)

Ascot House is lovely and walkable to the heart of York. The breakfast is abundant and convenient, and the beds are comfortable. However, the room was cramped for a family of four, as there was little space for luggage or to put things.
