Me and my husband recently stayed here. Only a short 10-15 minute walk to the centre, lots of places to dine, quiet and safe. Ascot house was warm, friendly staff, clean & the english breakfast was piping hot. Would highly recommend staying here. We would definitely stay here again.

This B & B was a wonderful place to stay. It was a 20 minute walk to the historic center of York. The area was safe and the walk was easy. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection! Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful victorian house that is superbly maintained. Excellent service and well located.

The staff was amazing, the older woman who checked me in was an angel. food was very good, and my room was a lot more impressive than thought it was going to be.

We enjoyed our stay in every way except the beds weren't very comfortable nor were the pillows.

The manager (owner?) was lovely and gracious when we arrived. The hotel room met our needs and was comfortable. We enjoyed the antiques and old photos reflecting the age of the building. Breakfast was good with excellent service.

Nettes Herrenhaus -wir wurden super freundlich empfangen! 15 Minuten Fußweg vom Zentrum York Sehr sauber & gepflegt, Parkplätze vorhanden Frühstück Teilweise Selbstbedienung( frisches Obst, Joghurt, Müsli….); warme Speisen werden nach Wunsch zubereitet. Kaffee: French press WLAN: im Dachgeschoss sehr schlecht , im EG gut Unser Zimmer hat eine Gaube und war dadurch nicht vollständig zu verdunkeln; das 2. Fenster ( Velux)hat ein Verdunklungsrollo)

A very pretty hotel, majestic!

Ascot House is lovely and walkable to the heart of York. The breakfast is abundant and convenient, and the beds are comfortable. However, the room was cramped for a family of four, as there was little space for luggage or to put things.

Nice hotel, good breakfast and short walk to city centre.
