The heater was still working even the weather is 37C. Very small room. But very covnient to airport

The room is clean but small. Helpful staff.

Generally, is a nice place for one night and then go to the Gatwick airport. The most important point is the safety problem. I heard someone try to open my door in the midnight and I was so scare that only a single women in the room. There is no extra lock for the door, except that one, it is a nice place.

Check in was very easy after 9pm. The room was decent size and this is ideal for being close to Gatwick.

Good stay, walked from LGW to the lodge, then back in the morning (personally wouldn’t recommend most doing this I just like walking). Bed was comfy, lodge was very close to several places to eat.

Great location, clean and quiet room, easy check in and out. Perfect stay for a few hours sleep before an early flight

Nice and clean, plenty of pillows. Short walk into town. Been coming here to this area a few time and used other guest houses. We will just use this one from now on it is far the best..

Compared to the price, it is fire.

Staff member was friendly and explained everything clearly. He helped me with my luggage which was nice as the stairs are quite steep and narrow. Room was good but bathroom was tiny, I thought I had booked shared bathroom but had my own but there was no room to manoeuvre. I had a shower and the water pressure was good but the walls were wet from humidity as extraction was a bit weak. The toilet was very close to the wall so was uncomfortable and you got a cold wet leg. Heating in room was good and you could turn it up or down as needed, but the bathroom was cold. Very close to restaurants and public transportation.

Breakfast was as advertised, continental one. The room was quiet and tidy. The staff was kind. For the services required, it was pretty good. I rested well and prepared for the following day. I recommend the place. If you travel from or to Gatwick apparently there is a bus nearby that goes from to the airport, or by taxi.

Great host. Clean and spacious room. Wish there was something to hang clothes/jackets. Quiet and safe neighborhood, could get really dark if walking at night. Walkable to pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Convenient bus stop direct to airport. Highly recommend Gainsborough Lodge.

The room was freezing when I got in despite answering your numerous emails about my arrival time. The room should have been warm. Then I thought I had figured it out and turned it on but while I was sleeping it was cold and I woke up shivering. I shouldn’t have to go to the front desk to ask how to put heat on! Since no one is even at the front desk unless I ring for them, it is quite a hassle for a tired guest. Leave instructions for the heat or better yet just put the heat on yourselves!

Was very clean and comfortable, in the main, nice host and ideally located. Tv wasnt working though and the room was a bit stuffy throughout the night. Would happily stay again though.

Room had clearly been suffering leaking especially around the outside door

Been many times and is exactly what it needs to be easy to access, clean and tidy age the right price

Comfort and comfortable bed

It was good value for money; staying one night before an early flight. The shower head needed some TLC in Viakal but it was ok.

Great location for Gatwick airport and the room was very comfortable. Tea and coffee were also provided.

Ideal location for Gatwick airport. Easy access after hours. Quiet area. Room suitable for one night stay. Could do with updating - toilet brush holder and towel rail rusty. Shower was low pressure and close to the wall so had to stand right at the taps and lean in to get wet, temperature was good tho. Despite this, would stay again for location and price.
