Stayed for 3 nights staff good room on the small side it was the bathroom that was really small and smelt of urine I didn’t help the at the windows didn’t open at all. I accept it’s a lovely old building but it needs a lot spending on it to bring it up to Hotel Du van standards.

first time to Exeter. My wife and I stayed for a week at the hotel Du Vin . Stunningly, beautiful hotel,. Fantastic location near the Cathedral. Unfortunately we were so busy, we did not have a chance to fully enjoy the pool and the spa. I would highly recommend the hotel.Particularly for those who are looking for a hotel that’s quiet at night. A special thank you to Will at the front desk. No AC and no discount - allowed to cancel upto night before and book elsewhere - graduation weekend …. Really! Front desk staff not hugely helpful Watched as we carried 4 heavy bags in more important to be on their phone!!

A lovely hotel. Staff were immensely helpful. Check in and all needs were sufficiently taken care of. The evening's meal was delicious and the servers impeccable! We had a great weekend stay at a highly recommended hotel.

Great weekend treat, good location for the centre of Exeter

After a recent bereavement I just needed a place to be alone in comfort and this was the best place. The room was pleasant and had all I needed

Staff excellent, food good but disturbed sleep as the bedroom doors are heavy and although on a soft close mechanism , slam shut very loudly at the end . When checking out we mentioned this and were told they are aware and that hotel is due a refurbishment ...

We treated ourselves to a little bit more luxury than we usually would as we were staying in Exeter for two days of motorcycle training. Having ridden down from South Wales, the hotel was a real treat to stay at. The room was clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and for two motorcycles, parking was no issue at all. The outdoor pool was heated and absolutely wonderful. I love open water swimming, so this was right up my street, with the bonus of a jacuzzi in the enclosed part of the pool. The quilt and pillows were feather, which I'm not a fan of, so I requested non-feather pillows, which were brought to the room within moments. Great service, but the pillows were rubbish. However, I like a firm, substantial pillow, so that's simply a personal choice; I can't fault the hotel for providing what I asked for. The breakfast was excellent, and the choice of whiskies and tequilas in the bar was very good. Having never been to Exeter before, I'd definitely go back. The cathedral is beautiful, the local walks through the historic town are gorgeous, and we found an amazing Moroccan restaurant nearby, El Farida, which, for me as a vegetarian, had a great choice

This hotel is exceptional... so much so we have stayed twice in the last month! The rooms, the surroundings, the food, the wine, the facilities and the staff all exceptional. Of note was the gravy on our Roast Beef 10/10

Aircon was broken on the hottest day of the year and they just gave us a fan.

Lovely pleasant hotel, nice food, great to have an outside heated pool for all weathers.

I really wanted to give 5 stars for this lovely hotel, but unfortunately it was let down by the breakfast service. We rang and pre booked a parking space and so we were delighted to see our name on a stand reserving a space for us. Great service. Check in staff were also lovely and helpful. We booked a classic room and it was good enough for one night. The ensuite bathroom had a bath with shower attachment over. The step up into the bath was very high, and being only 5 foot 2” I had to get my husband to help me safely in and out. A grab rail of some sort would have been handy. The bed was really comfortable and two pillows each were plump and clean. The breakfast. We came down for 9am and there were several tables waiting to be cleared. The lady that sat us had to clean a table for us. She took our cooked order of one full English and 2 soft boiled eggs with toast. The help yourselves cereal bar was okay, not huge, typical of a hotel set up. For such an expensive hotel I was surprised we had to help ourselves to coffee and tea. We waited for our cooked food for more than 30 minutes. We saw a plate of breakfast waiting to be brought out that sat there for more than 5 minutes. Not ours thankfully. When ours did arrive the eggs were hard boiled not soft. As breakfast is £24.50 each this is not good value for money. I would stay at this hotel again but skip paying for breakfast and go out for it.

The spa and swimming pool is beautiful.... So calm and relaxing. Highly recommend this.

Very good allround but a larger bed would improve comfort and satisfaction.
