Location modern trendy hotel which lovely staff

Spotless room, fantastic room, lovely staff and in a fantastic location

It was close to restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. The room was clean, qiuet and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic boutique hotel in york centre - excellent tourist spot!

The room was a little claustrophobic and shabby around the edges. That said the bed was very comfy.

Horrible basement room that stank of drains and sewage to the point that we could not stay there over night. Very unfriendly staff who did not deal with our issue well. Disgusting establishment and would warn anyone not to stay there. Awful experience.

For a 4 star hotel we would have expected a safe and fridge in the room, there was also no toilet brush in our bathroom and as the room wasn't cleaned during our 2 night stay (unsure why not) this was disappointing. There was a large residue of dust on the top of the bathroom mirrors. It was not the fault of the hotel but the loud noise from the courtyard at 7am from a delivery of beer barrels both mornings was very disruptive as our room overlooked the courtyard. The location of the hotel was great.

Great service super location The room and building need a lick of paint and a spruce up, lots of wear and tear in our room, not sure about the other rooms they may be better. We were on ground floor and the room needed some love, well worn

Super room with comfy king size bed, roll top bath and separate shower in a great position in the centre of York

Located in a great place right near loads of shops and restaurants. Brekkie at Bill's round the corner on 1st day then after wandering around York for a bit you're spoilt for choice on where to eat for thecrest of the stay. Veey characterful hotel like most of York. Room was lovely and all the staff very pleasant and helpful. Would definately stay again.

Room aesthetic and appearance was excellent, bed was very comfy, temperature was easy to regulate and we had it just right, and the location is excellent.

15 minute walk from the station. Cant be faulted on location. In the middle of the shopping area with plenty of food establishments right outside. Yet not too busy. Pedestrianised during the day. It was easy to find everything within 5 minutes walk. The cathedral, the Barbican, The Shambles etc.

Amenities

The hotel is lovely as are the staff and the rooms, great amenities in the room. Couldn’t ask for a better location either. The only issue for us which unfortunately will make us not return was the walls are paper thin, we could hear everything which is such a shame

Loved the unique room and history of the building. Bathroom was very spacious and lovely. Staff kindly took our bags up to our room after we dropped off our luggage early.

Friendly staff. Quaint historic building. Very quiet. Walkable from the train station. Great location and ambience.

Whilst the location is excellent being right in the city centre, this hotel has seen better days and is need of a good clean and refurbishment.

Loved the room (#6). Very comfortable. Staff lovely. But promo photo doesn’t represent truly the access to its frontage which is via a dark jigger from the main high street. It’s also tricky to find the entry point off the main road - but you get there in the end!
