After using Expedia for many years, I have now become aware that booking a hotel room via Expedia (and the like) results in being allocated a second rate room by the hotel, as they have to make up for a (perhaps) cheaper sale & commission costs! The Da Vinci Hotel is undergoing an upgrade and is generally looking good, but our room is presumably awaiting its' turn! The bathroom wasn't great - there were water/damp stains on the ceiling, the shower tray overflowed & the fittings required and upgrade. On our first night the hotel was apparently busy and the dining room staff seemed stressed! We are out on the other nights. The bar was good. Breakfasts were good. The hotel is out of town so you need a car to get into the city.

A clean hotel, and a clean room. Food very good, staff friendly, breakfast very good too. We really enjoyed our 2 night break here.

The hotel was fine as far as having everything we needed, but the atmosphere just seemed a little cold. The bar area was amazing though. Much more warm and cozy than the rest of the hotel. Also, our room was on the first floor near the back of the hotel, and they are renovating right now and started working really early right outside our room.

Great hotel. No problem parking, really friendly and helpful staff and lovely room. King sized bed room and it had a fridge. Breakfast was included, and it was good. Recently refurbished. Price was very competitive. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful refurbished hotel with the most beautiful bar I’ve seen. Staff and food were excellent. Wifi was off and on.

Parts of the property were under renovation whilst we were there yet everything was still perfectly maintained and the Reno’s weren’t an issue for guests. Great parking available too which was fantastic

Stayed here for one night. The hotel is going through a renovation but it’s almost complete. Very nice upgrades and clean/modern touches.

Staff very friendly. Very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was a bit confusing as the food was in a different area than the dining area. Also there could be more of a selection for breakfast. Otherwise a very pleasant experience!

Where do I start!! My husband and I stayed two nights in Da Vinci's hotel during the Derry jazz festival. Before check in we had lunch in the bar which was very tasty, but trying to get drinks at the bar was almost impossible, lots of times both myself and my husband were ignored while others around us were served. They were obviously serving locals known by the staff. We eventually left and went into town. Then we opted for breakfast in our room on our last morning. We left out the card with our order before we went to bed . The next morning we waited for breakfast which didn't arrive, we looked and the card was still on the door handle. I phoned reception 3 times and was told someone was on their way up to sort it out. Never happened so I eventually phoned down and said forget it, there was absolutely no apology from the receptionist. 10 mins later the manager rang and apologised saying they had walked the floor 4 times during the night and didn't see our card , suggested maybe another guest moved it🤔 then how was it still on our door handle? At checkout I asked for a refund for the two breakfasts and was told they were complimentary so no refund. The whole experience at Da Vinci's showed us the staff couldn't care less about customer care. Do not recommend this hotel.
