The Dwarika is an oasis. The spa and gym facilities are out of this world. It is a living cultural museum with wood carvings and art and traditional but fancy local cuisine.
It was exactly what I needed after the Everest Marathon, a place to detox and recover. Even the air is better and sweeter in the hotel. It isn’t near Thamel but that is why it is peaceful. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It isn’t the luxury, it is the support of Nepali and Newari traditions that put it over the top.
PS The basil lemonade is addictive
PPS The lady who manages the treatment center is a fourth generation healer and she has an incredible nasya recipe for your sinuses and lungs

This place is an oasis at the center of buzzing Kathmandu. Close proximity to the airport is a bonus. You can of course stay at the western chains but if you wish to immerse yourself in Nepalese culture while having the perks of a 4/5 star hotel, this is the place to be. Don’t forget to dine at the excellent Nepalese restaurant.

Don’t stay here if you want a good nights rest . There was a dog barking all night and drilling and hammering during the day. What a nusaince and mistake to stay here and over priced. I spent over $1200 for three nights and got a better sleep at a $50

Situado en una calle con mucha actividad comercial, es un hotel con unas zonas comunes impresionantes, impecables, con estupenda piscina, buenos restaurantes (uno de ellos de cocina nepalí donde sirven menús degustación). Cuenta también con un servicio de spa que funciona muy bien. La habitación y el cuarto de baño eran grandes y bien surtidos. El personal es amabilísimo. El aeropuerto está a diez minutos en coche.

From the moment we got in to the moment we left, you could not fault anything. The service was amazing, the room was phenomenal and a great choice of restaurants. I really loved the turned down service, knowing when your back from dinner everything is ready for you for bed. Recommend anyone going to Kathmandu to stay here.

We celebrated New Year’s Eve here.
Stay at his hotel made our time more comfortable in Kathmandu.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was also good.
They accommodated our request to transfer some parts of our stay to their resort in Dhulikhel which was also very nice.
Dhulikhel resort although could not accommodate our request for late check out on last day as our flight was late in the evening and that is the only daily flight.
That was the only bummer.
We were unwell during our stay and could have done with extra rest on the last day before taking the long flight back home.
