The Dwarika is an oasis. The spa and gym facilities are out of this world. It is a living cultural museum with wood carvings and art and traditional but fancy local cuisine. It was exactly what I needed after the Everest Marathon, a place to detox and recover. Even the air is better and sweeter in the hotel. It isn’t near Thamel but that is why it is peaceful. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It isn’t the luxury, it is the support of Nepali and Newari traditions that put it over the top. This place is an oasis at the center of buzzing Kathmandu. Close proximity to the airport is a bonus. You can of course stay at the western chains but if you wish to immerse yourself in Nepalese culture while having the perks of a 4/5 star hotel, this is the place to be. Don’t forget to dine at the excellent Nepalese restaurant.

The best hotel in Nepal, excellent services, breakfast, staff. One of the reasons we love to go back to Nepal. The hotel has a character which makes it very very especial.
