I have never left a hotel review, but I wish someone had told me what to expect with this hotel. First, there is no one to check you in; you use a touch screen and have to fill out information you already provided during the reservation process. I also had to call them for a booking number, because it didn't match the one from hotels.com. The inside is cheap, sparse (not in a good way) and my room was dusty. The check-out for the self-service market for water, etc. was broken the whole time we stayed there and they wouldn't allow you to charge to your room. The elevator went out the morning we left, and we had to carry our very heavy gear down multiple flights of stairs. Basically, if this is a cheap option for you, great, but you will have no help during your stay, other than someone on the phone telling you they can't help. Right next door is a much nicer hotel for not that much more.

There is no staff to speak of. Fortunately from prior reviews I knew that the virtual check in system often does not recognize your confirmation number so I was prepared for that; because I was checking in near the first available time there actually was a staff person present to help. But when I needed something for my room, I had to send a message through Expedia to get a response. That said, the room was a nice size, the A/C worked well, the bed was comfortable and the location was terrific.

Op zich leuk en fancy maar de airco werkte niet waardoor je de nacht niet goed kon slappen. Het was best warm toen.
Verder was de factuur over de betaalde city tax geweigerd die nodig voor die administratie van ons bedrijf was geweest.
Dus, voor die kamer prijs zou ik die keuze niet nog eens maken.

Hotel is lovely. Rooms spacious, quiet with safe and fridge. Staff incredibly helpful especially with checkin (terminal in reception which we had to use didn’t accept any booking references we held and others struggled to check in electronically as well)

Check in was simple as long as you have the booking code - it is sent to you from the hotel, NOT hotels.com. I did not have it but someone came straight away when called to help me. The room was spacious and had a coffee machine and a fridge and a comfy bed. The location is great - so close to the train station and also just a few minutes walk into the town center. I got breakfast at nearby restaurants so did not try the hotel breakfast (next door). Would definitely stay there again

Super Lage, sehr zentral. Sauber, Zimmer ungewöhnlich- mit Waschbecken mitten im Zimmer. Check in funktionierte nicht - Mitarbeiterin war schnell zur Stelle. Parkplatz im Hof 25€ pro Tag.
Frühstück im Nachbarhotel top.

The Vic was conveniently well located near the train station and walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. It is a self check in and there is a well stocked kiosk for coffee, snacks and convenience items. It is connected to a hotel with full staff and a restaurant, though we didn’t need either for our trip. One of our group did need help with checking in, and was able to find someone there to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we easily walked to/from the train station.

The drinks machine in our room was not good and very awkward. The water coming out of it tasted of coffee, so unable to make a cup of tea. No milk for cup of tea, just powdered !!
Otherwise OK - basic but good shower.
