Great location between parliament and castle along Karl Johen - rooms really nice - fantastic shower - and breakfast included was really first rate - eat a large one and it takes you to dinner. Alexandra on front desk was so helpful - went above and beyond for us - suggested a good walking tour and other side trips. I would highly recommend this hotel - walkable everywhere - and the car park isn’t too far away

Great value for money. The hotel met my expectations. It has a very central location and we could walk to many of the city's main attractions. It’s not exactly a calm and quiet area (as it is in one of the cities busiest streets) so if that’s what you’re looking for, it might not be the best option for you. However, we must highlight that, in our opinion, the soundproofing was very efficient. We were staying there during Norway’s first FIFA match and our room was right in front of the FAN zone arena. When I first got the email with this notification from the hotel I was concerned, as but it was surprisingly not an issue at all! I had no trouble sleeping this night. Breakfast was great. The only thing I’d improve: The shower glass enclosure isn't completely sealed, which makes the floor a bit wet. But overall, it was a great experience

Room was a nice size, comfortable beds, and location was fabulous. Right in the city center with easy access to tram and trains. Staff were very helpful.

Mycket centralt läge och väldigt bra frukost. Rent och städat. Luftkonditionering, men små rum, dock fungerade allt bra. Trevlig personal. Rekommenderar verkligen detta hotell.

The hotel was very clean and in a perfect location. Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent front desk staff. The woman on duty Monday morning June 15 (don’t know her name) went above and beyond to help us when our next day’s flight was cancelled. She may have been a former flight attendant and knew exactly what to do. She saved the day for us. Excellent breakfast and breakfast room too.

Clean but snug rooms, just what is needed for city stay. Lovely staff and good breakfast

Didnt like this hotel at all. Small rooms, tiny restrooms and sink, no ac control (to turn it off) difficult to get to the room specially with luggage (stairs, long corridors, lots of turns) The only really good was breakfast and location. Definitely not luxe as the page implied. Staff ok but not friendly and with no service attitude. (None of them) I dont know if this is the normal in norway but really not satisfied at all. ———————- Este hotel no me gustó nada. Habitaciones pequeñas, baños y lavabos diminutos, sin control para apagar el aire acondicionado, difícil acceso a la habitación, sobre todo con equipaje (escaleras, pasillos largos, muchas curvas). Lo único bueno fue el desayuno y la ubicación. Definitivamente no es lujoso como sugería la página. El personal era correcto, pero poco amable y sin ninguna vocación de servicio. (Ninguno). No sé si esto es lo normal en Noruega, pero la verdad es que no quedé nada satisfecho.

This had fantastic breakfasts . Healthy choices as well the full cooked . Lovely balcony on the L level, accessible via the ordinary lift not the glass lift . Accessible room very big and an excellent comfortable bed with coffee facilities. Prices included breakfast but did not say it on the receipt . Excellent centre for walking from with the odd event straight outside . We had a massive carnival when we were there . A colour festival and many political events outside the parliament building close by . Jazz cafe next door with picky food but ample . Good restaurant’s off the main drag . Would stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Karl Johan Hotel. We were only there 2 nights, and had to leave really early the last morning to catch our flight, so only had the opportunity to experience the breakfast one morning. Pros: - Centrally located between the castle and Oslo's Central Station. - You are in the middle of everything going on (and trust me, there was A LOT going on on a sunny Saturday in June!). - Because you are in the middle of everything, it is very walkable. - The rooms were really comfortable - Beds, air conditioning, blackout drapes. - Large selection of foods at the breakfast buffet. - Love, love, love that every hotel we stayed in in Norway had a card slot when you entered your room to activate the electricity in the room (the only challenge is when you want to charge a device, like a Kindle, when you are out and about). Cons: - We were on the second floor and there was A LOT going on in the park across from the hotel. It was quite noisy, primarily the amplified music. - Walking from Central Station to the hotel only took about 12 minutes, but there were a lot of cobblestones and uneven surfaces to negotiate (we had 3 rolling bags). While it shouldn't be a deterrent to anyone, people should be prepared. We didn't look into a taxi/uber or any other public transportation to get us closer, but I'm sure there are options.
