All was lovely, except the rooms were very small. The breakfasts were excellent. The location was perfect.

We stayed for a second time in 2 weeks.. second room not as nice but adequate. Breakfast wonderful! Staff great!

The hotel is an excellent location

I loved this hotel and the breakfast was amazing. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in. The location is unmatched, but the only complaint is that we were on the side of the hotel facing the Parliament building and we heard protesting from the Parliament square every single day. While I wholeheartedly support the causes and appreciate the fact that folks are free to protest, sometimes we couldn't nap for the chanting, and we kept our windows closed more often than I would have liked. My only complaint about the room itself is that it was TINY. There was nowhere to put clothes and the tiny space for hanging clothes didn't even accommodate a dress. There wasn't even room to open a single suitcase on the floor. Made it hard for a 5 night stay. Next time I'd make sure to get a larger room. I'd only ever stayed in the Grand Hotel in Oslo before and did not miss it - not even the breakfast buffet - although I would have preferred the larger room size! We also appreciated that it was just a block from a Vålerenga supporters pub!

We were in Oslo for two nights. This hotel is in a very convenient location - close to a transit station, but also close to dining, shopping, museums, parks, etc. We found most everything to be walkable.

Ideal location in central Oslo 5 minutes walk from the Nationaltheatret train station Central Oslo is only 35 minutes from the Oslo Airport by rapid train. The hotel surprised us with a wonderful room upgrade.

A good hotel, with a convenient location and wonderful breakfast. The negative part of our stay was the extremely small bathroom as well as not receiving any upgrades that we were due from Expedia.

Staff of the property was amazing. One of the best breakfast menus of any hotel. Excellent. Can’t wait to go back.

Karl Johan is a lovely hotel in a great location close to almost all sites and the breakfast was great. However, our room would have been fine except for the bathroom which was very misleading. I would have never booked this room if the correct pictures were posted on the Hotels.com site. The pictures I saw are NOT reflective of the bathroom which was the size of a hallway closet. We are not large people and we questioned how larger people would have functioned. Seriously, I have never seen a sink the size as small as this one. It literally measured 1 Ft wide by 1.25 ft long which is not what I saw online. It was almost impossible to wash without splashing everywhere. I think this misrepresentation warrants Hotels.com to contact me. I have a picture to prove my point.

Excellent, central location. Friendly staff and very comfortable bed.

The sofa bed is very loud, but in general, it’s a pleasant stay with them. We (two adults and two children) love the breakfast offering. The location is wonderful as well. It's super convenient to everything around, and it's easy to get to the National Theatre and take the Flytoget to the airport (vice versa).

Our stay would’ve been perfect… the room was very clean, well kept, and comfortable but the issue was the view, or lack thereof. The windows looked out to a building within 5 meters from our window, so it made us feel a bit claustrophobic. Otherwise, great location, amenities (skandinavisk skog), and breakfast!

Very well located inverter of Oslo, the lovely old hotel that has been updated with many amenities. Hemming buffet is terrific. The front desk staff were very helpful.

Breakfast was a 10/10 in food quality and beautiful breakfast room. Bed comfort was good and bathroom was luxurious with enough counter space. Shower was a bit on the tiny side, but still workable. The location of hotel was prime.
