The place is very convenient to the all basic necessity so I prefer to stay when I come for the business trip

I knew the location was in downtown market and busy but what made it bad was the pesticide chemical usage in all rooms which made my eyes burn and resulted into skin allergies. Room had baby cockroaches and was not really clean. Food was mediocre. Beef liver for breakfast was not expected. Really let me down.

It’s in the middle of everything. The incredible staff simplified my stay. Kelly, Valens, Olive, and many more, helped me navigate around the hotel/city, and couldn’t ask more. Definitely one of the best hotels in Kigali.

The hotel is pleasant overall and the room was very comfortable. However, I had a very bad experience with a car rental arranged through reception. I paid $100/day for a 15 year old car that was unsafe and uninsured: cracked windscreen, bald tyres (I slipped on wet roads), oil warning light, noisy engine, and it broke down on day two with an alternator failure. The insurance provided was for private use only, meaning I would not have been covered in an accident. I was asked to sign a contract only in Kinyarwanda, and when I complained, the rental company tried to blame me for the faults. I was harassed and harangued by two car rental company staff at the entrance to the hotel, trying to make me pay for an alternator/ engine repairs. I eventually got part (for the second day) of my money back from the staff member who arranged the car rental, but the experience ruined my last day in Kigali. I only got the money back after much arguing and eventually the hotel staff member accepted responsibility and liability for arranging the car rental. I had no option but to sit around the hotel for the entire day without any usual hospitality recovery like a shower, free shuttle to the airport etc. Guests should insist on using reputable, established rental companies with proper commercial insurance.
