We had a wonderful stay at Taj Samudra Colombo. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was warm and welcoming.
A special thank you to Fatima and Indunil, who served us at breakfast, as well as Dewmali and Chandana, for their exceptional service and genuine care. They made us feel more like personal guests than hotel guests, which made our stay truly memorable.

Check-out was seamless, courtesy of Executive Secretary Thamali, whose kindness and care while we waited for transport added the final, thoughtful touch to our stay.

The room size is acceptable, but the shower place is too small and inadequate, water flows on bathroom floors while having shower.
The A/C has to keep at 20 deg C or else room with get moisture which makes room floor slippery, room floors are not wiped properly, this I noticed when I cleaned the moisture on the floor with tissues to avoid slipping.
Breakfast menu is great but although they have more then sufficient space, the interior is not designed properly which makes crowded at live station

Stayed at the Luxury & Club room. When entering the room, toilet was not clean with stains in toilet. Amenities were not replenished, toothbrush given was of poor quality. Corridors were dirty and smelly. Wrote an email to both duty manager & general manager, yet not even a single reply. Went for dinner at Navaratna restaurant, bill was overcharged, ordered Kashmiri Naan as I am vegetarian instead they served Mutton Keema Naan saying that it is Kashmiri Naan. Absolutely horrible from a Taj brand. Never going to stay here again.

What I liked the most was the view from room. The hotel needs a good renovation. Loved the decore in the room.
Needs to be more generous with the towels etc. always some towel is missing.
As for the food it was good but all the sambals need attention. The chefs need to learn how to make a good lunumiris, seen sambal etc.
Wattalappan fantastic. Oat porridge not ok.
Fruit selection ok but no mango.
How about some original sinhalese sweets.

The first thing I noticed was the courteous and ready to help staff, Taj has large tree covered property with both ocean and city views.
I used the buffets styled restaurant offering international food and with more Indian themed food choices. (not surpised there since Taj is an Indian hotel company and at my visit, majority of guest were Indians.
