Great hotel would recomm

Excellent

The hotel is clean, smart. It's fine but a main reason I chose it was for the air conditioned rooms. However the AC was noisy and didn't work well. The room's TV was small and Standard Definition. The on site restaurant was unexpectedly shut during my second night. Decent coffee machine at breakfast albeit slow. Decent gym but again poor AC.

Rooms are very nice clean and modern (could do with a bigger tv) bed very comfy and breakfast good. Will stay again

Great place, convenient with friendly staff

Stated for one night after Chepstow races with my two children. The room was spotless, good tea/coffee making facilities, air con and lovely beds and bedding. The electricity cut out in the room around 9.00pm and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They tried to fix the fault, but ended up giving us another room when it couldn’t be resolved. They also gave us drinks and snacks while we waited and were very apologetic. Breakfast was served until 10.30am but we didn’t get down there until 10.10am so understandably things had run out. Would have been great for more veggie options on the hot buffet, but the staff were again friendly and we would definitely stay again.

We needed 2 last-minute rooms and we hit the jackpot here! Super clean, well maintained, free parking, and best of all during this heatwave, wonderful air conditioning! Close to Tintern Abbey (25 minutes) and Cardiff (35 mins). Only thing lacking are washcloths (or "flannels" as they are referred to in the UK), but most hotels don't stock them we are finding. Highly recommend staying here over Cardiff.

Shame the restaurant was closed but the pizza filled a hole. Room excellent, staff welcoming and polite and a well stocked bar.

Like it all lovely stay

When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice man who booked us in explained everything and said there was someone on duty all night.. the room as clean the bathroom spotless the bed very comfy .. . Would def stay again good value for money

Have stayed before and was very pleased. Lovely big rooms which are clean. Staff really pleasant at check in. Issues were only 1 towell in the bathroom in a room for 2 people so had to search around and a spare was in the wardrobe, no shower gel in the shower. Annoyingly, and not the hotels fault someone had set the alarm on the tv for 7am so we were woken by the tv switching itself on. Breakfast was really poor. There was no milk for drinks or cereal, we waited over 15 minutes for some to arrive. The coffee machine was not really working, they had run out of some of the hot food, juice and croissants and these were not replenished. There appeared to be a real shortage of staff for the breakfast so no one to really ask. The hotel was good value overall and rooms were great but was disappointed with the stay this time which was a shame as I have recommended it previously.

The hotel was clean and modern and comfortable. Good location for our trip, and plenty of parking. Rooms large and comfy.

Lovely staff and super helpful. Clean, modern. Absolute bargain hotel stay for less than £25. There is a building site next door but it did not impact on my stay. I arrived after 6pm when works had stopped and left at 8am before works started.

Clean, efficient, well maintained

Staff were excellent! Room lovely and bed great Very hot and AC or heat control and could not get below 21 at night. Adjusted sawyers not available very late - had to order on more expensive would not have booked knowing no onsite pub/restaurant available as a solo traveller that’s a must

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed something that we were not told when we checked in. The bar food consisted of a 5 item menu only and food was not allowed to be taken to room. The area has no other restaurants within walking distance. The room was excellent but the facilities that were available were very poor.

Upon arrival just after 4pm, I was given Room 24 which was on the ground floor, directly adjacent to the dining area without soundproofing but an open doorway. Also in the adjacent rooms were numerous foreign (migrant?) families with children running up and down the short corridor, and plenty of door knocking and chatting loudly in the corridor. I complained to the reception staff (man instead of the young lady who checked me in), he apologised and moved me to another room on 2nd floor, plus gave a free drink voucher by way of apology, as it wasn’t the last room in the hotel. Odd it was given out in the first place. The second room has aircon that won’t switch off, unless you remove the room key so all electrics go out. I read this in other reviews so knew about it in advance of booking. In my second floor room, the sink was blocked and management must have known about it, as the sink plug (revolving disc) was missing. There was one in the ground floor room. The beds themselves are super comfortable, probably one of the best I’ve ever slept on, although some people may find them a little too high up off the ground. The surrounding area (over an Easter weekend) was a bit desolate. The road and surrounding land has much subsistence, with roadworks and single lane traffic lights which aren’t too much of an issue. There is a Subway but I never saw it open. There isn’t much else to look at, just a building site next to the hotel. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Clean room, excellent staff, functional hotel near a nice village with pub and Indian restaurant. Would stay again.
