ibis Sydney Thornleigh

It is a bad experience stay in this Ibis hotel, location is not good, and facility in the room is too old, no house-keeping if after 10:00am. Overall no good stay experience this time.

On the first day we arrived Sydney, we lost our suitcase during our transfer flight and we felt really frustrated. however, after IBIS heard our story and they shared their courtesy to us by giving us a bottle of sparkling wine. It means a lot to us.

Staff friendly and good for a night’s stay before getting on the M1 early to head up north, a casual drink at the bar and something light to eat was available

This hotel is a great, cost effective option for staying on the outskirts of Sydney. The room and bathroom are compact, as expected for an Ibis, but perfectly adequate for our needs on this trip. The bed and towels were perfectly clean and comfy. I'm super picky about cleanliness, and the floor carpet and shower could have been a notch cleaner - but they were fine and most normal people probably wouldn't even notice. Another Ibis characteristic is the lobby bar, it was really nice to have the opportunity for a nichtcap in our lobby before turning in at the end of a long busy day. The staff were super!

Clean room, dining area looked inviting, there were games to play, hospitable staff.

Staff were helpful. Place is old, run down and in need of an upgrade. My room (a queen) was tiny, had obvious water damage stains on the ceiling & dirty marks on curtains. The added-on "pod" style bathroom involved a considerable step up to enter. A kettle that had to be filled at the bathroom sink, iron & ironing board and a TV with poor sound were in the room. I had to eat in their foyer area dining area as there were no other options nearby except McDonald's. My food was just adequate. This will be my last visit.

For low-cost accommodation it was very adequate. It was not a holiday for us, but somewhere cosy & comfortable to stay while helping our daughter move house. We were very happy.

Shower and toilet had to step up into people should be told about this as being an elderly woman would have preferred a level open for saftey.thought breakfast could have been better if cooked things were hot not lukewarm.

Clean, cosy hassle free stay. Staff very polite and accommodating. Close to train station and shops. Will stay again.

It could be an excellent hotel (dining room, cosy corner, parking) but it desperately needs some upkeep! The carpet is worn. The walls needs painting, The skirting boards are made of carpet glued to the wall and these strips have fallen over. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Bathroom had lots of hairs (?) around the shower and on the wall. Very ikky. The cupboard is the weirdest of contraptions. Staff apologetic but ‘out of their hands’. Customers should boycott until repairs are carried out!
