This is a good, close stay to RCH for us

- Super noisy, you can hear every door and movement of others, garbage bins outside being moved around and slammed early in the mornings. - Tv outdated and stuck in "Store mode" most channels don't work and everyone you turn it on the volume is jarringly loud. - Pool and sauna under maintenance with no indication of when it won't be (literally the only reason I booked here). - Really expensive parking, charging full price when arriving late in the evening and your departure day in the morning is a bit of a rip off. - Room was really warm which wouldn't be a problem because you can open a window but then you get to listen to the compressors and bins outside. - No fans in the bathroom so everything gets covered in moisture if you have a shower. - Shower turns extremely hot periodically and is below average. + Bed is comfy and the pillows are good. + Staff on Saturday and Sunday were helpful and easy going. Far too expensive for an unrelaxing stay, I feel ripped off.

Dirty unmade room on arrival it was poor, best avoided

Ideal location for the hospital. More than adequate for my needs

Easter Holiday weekend meant minimal services of all kinds. $26 buffet breakfast not very good value if all that was wanted was toast and tea. Room small (not enough open space for stretching/qigong exercises) but acceptable. Some other patrons noisy and unruly (eg: banging on several doors because they didn't know where their friends were staying).

Fantastic location. Was certainly easy for us to get around town. Breakfast was satisfactory for the price. We ended up have dinner there too and were happy with quality and price. Unfortunately the premises itself is getting tired. In dire need of some maintenance.

It is definitely aged like the other reviews say, carpets need replacing in the main hall ways. The shower head angle is wrong and can’t be changed, the water spurts out far past the shower screen. Some TV channels only had sound and no picture. The breakfast was ok but definitely not served hot, and a bit limited on options. Overall though it was an ok stay, convenient location for our plans, and we would stay again.

The brekky and dinner were fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed the meals.

Mercure North Melbourne is definitely closer to 2 stars than 4 stars as advertised.

The room was clean, but areas getting to the room are looking tired and the carpets are hanging on by a thread! Perfect for one night for a Grand Prix visit. Very close to the tram line.

Rooms are really run down. Air con did not work and its very shabby. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel. I would not stay here again.

The room was very large with a large window overlooking a small park. It was very clean and the bed, bedding and towels were of high quality. The hair dryer was missing and the television was not working. The shower is over the bath which may be difficult for some.

Left after 10 minutes. The room smelt damp and the carpet was soaking wet, there were holes patched up on the doors, threadbare carpet up the halls which was wrinkled and a trip hazard, the room across the hall were watching a movie and we could hear everything. The lift doors opened whilst the lift was still moving. The place is in complete disrepair and should not be listed on this site.

Needed a good revamp Air Conditioner not working properly. It was very warm in room said air con set at 19 but it was more like 28 very warm and uncomfortable. Cold water tap on hand basin did not work unless you turned on Fawcett under the basin if let on tap kept running. Power Point were few and by bed you had to get down on your knees as they were on one side under the side table . Staff were friendly though.

Mercure North good location but v run down. Restaurant was SO SLOW! Had to ask for room change due to window frame rot & unable to close window.

Very noisy all night.

We booked conjoining rooms and were placed in two adjacent rooms that were not conjoined which is highly challenging with young children. One room had no live channels on tv and the other room the AC was not working and was stifling hot. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Price is right for style and age, staff are friendly and helpful and the location for zoo, park, hospital and Errol st cafes and pubs is ideal, or tram adjacent for a smooth ride to town
