Jason at the front desk was very accommodating and customer friendly, breakfast was better than most other hotels, pool was nice but needed to be clean, beds were comfortable, cost per night was alot better than the downtown hotels.

I love the rustic decor - real wood - cozy and warm. Food and service in the pub was excellent. My only complaint - the vending machine ate my $4.00 when I was having a snack attack at 0100h. Probably didn't need the chips anyway. LOL Lovely place with lots of parking for full-size trucks.

Hopefully you don't have to deal with Fred at the front desk. He is terrible!!!!
The pool didn't have water in it when we arrived. It was unusable the entirety of our stay.
The hotel is falling apart.
Not once was the breakfast selection changed. It was the same thing for the 11 days we stayed.
The fridge is extremely small.
Hit and miss with service for our room.
I would not recommend for extended stays.
The positives were the room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the other staff excluding Fred were great.

So here is the thing i book this suppose to be queen Ann room for my wife's birthday who has stage 4 brain and lung cancer and what i am getting is a dark and dingy room with a king size whirl pool tub as you call it. The fake marble tables that hold up your lamps are ready to fall over by them selves and the reprints of Keir stead are folding and stained in their frames. I live in this city and i got to tell you i would not recommend this hotel to anyone as i have work in this industry for 48 years. My wife would also like to add that your king size tub was dirty God bless her heart. Thanks.

We have stayed at the Fireside Inn many times over the years and I think it is looking old and not maintained as well as it should be. The staff were very accommodating at Tom's Place and Bistro Stefan in the morning (only open for breakfast during the week). There are no movies available on the tv in the room and our tv was at 82 in volume one morning, like it was possessed.

Most of our stay was enjoyable; however, the breakfast items were somewhat sub-standard (Cold muffins, hot dogs instead of breakfast sausages, two-item fruit salad)
The room was clean and comfortable. Entranceways from Princess Street need to be fixed, as there are many potholes.

Room was very clean and loved the coziness of the fireplace in there.only problem was sleeping. Bed was a little too hard and the pillows way too big. It would be nice to have thinner pillows
