Excellent all round Amazing staff Great rooms Great breakfast

Room was clean, but dated. No walk in shower, only shower over bath, which caused me to slip when getting in/out. Breakfast good an plentiful.

The staff were really kind and helpful, particularly at breakfast. The room was clean and spacious with windows that could be opened. The only minor issue was the speed of the WIFI. Would highly recommend.

Staff was amazing but the rooms are very outdated, carpets are s Extremely old n stained. The plumbing was not good, the first room had a bed in the hallway. They did change is to the family room which I Originally booked, it was much better but still outdated. We had several Moths in the room.

Room was excellent, decent size and great view of the garden, gym and pool where a nice addition, all staff where very helpful and had a great breakfast in the morning, could not fault and would recommend

The room was spacious and clean, the staff we’re friendly and attentive and the breakfast had plenty of choice, all the hot buffet perfectly cooked

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Slightly outdated decor etc. But cleanliness & service more than made up for it.

Carpets were badly worn and stained but rooms were clean apart from that just sad that the upkeep isn’t so good. Breakfast was good. Didn’t use pool etc, rooms were horrendously hot with no air conditioning.

We stayed one night, the hotel was clean, although some communal areas and our room were a bit tired. There was no air con in the room, a shame, as it was in the 30s, but there was a fan. Staff were freindly and efficient and breakfast was good.

Mixed stay. When we arrived we had the premium room furtherest from reception and the key cards didn't work so we had to walk all the way back. The room was very hot making it uncomfortable to hang around in, especially since there was only a small fan. We also got woken up in the morning by housekeeping opening our door even though we had only stayed for one night and it was 3hrs before check out. The room was decent, very big bed and the nespresso machine with complimentary drinks was a nice touch. Expedia also said pool and spa available but because it was a Sunday these had already closed before we arrived at 6pm.

Appeared to be a little run down in parts. Carpets upstairs were dirty and stained. Bedrooms were clean and had hair dryer and irons/boards. Beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were lovely and welcome after travelling in the heat. Towels provided. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not eat there but had a drink. Prices were astronomical £27 for 4 lagers. Despite that would use again.

Good for the location where I needed to be. Just in my budget for work. Room I was in was a little tired in places, but clean and tidy. Breakfast is expensive so didn’t have any. Pool was good and had a swim. Staff were very friendly.

The Mercure Hotel in Hull is a lovely old building with decent parking and a nice, spacious entrance hall. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was okay. There were clearly lots of functions taking place, which gave the hotel a busy atmosphere, but thankfully we could not hear any of this from our room. The room itself was a good size, but very basic. To be fair, the price does reflect that; however, the room was not very well maintained. The property is clearly old and now needs proper renovation. For example, the towel rail fell off when I put a towel on it, the toilet did not match the rest of the bathroom suite, and the tiles in the bathroom were cracked. It felt like parts of the room had been cheaply refurbished rather than properly improved. The bed was squeaky, the TV was tiny, and the coffee facilities were very basic. Overall, it should probably be marketed more clearly as a budget hotel. That said, it has real potential. With some investment, better maintenance and a more thoughtful refurbishment, it could be so much more. It was obviously a busy hotel, which is a good sign, but it could definitely be better.
