Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel

Nothing at all wrong with the hotel. Clean, nice views of garden, huge bed. It was the noise of the other guests that kept me awake after deciding that 11:30 at night was the best time to have a loud pointless conversation on the landing. Hotel was fine and i had no issues with it. Staff are very helpful and polite. Would stay with them again if i have to.

Staff were nice but the property is tired and the beds were ridiculously uncomfortable.

Black mould on the bathroom tiles, coffee machine not working. Lady at breakfast was most efficient and friendly. Spa bath was lukewarm and not working!

There was ample parking, and the receptionist was very helpful in explaining our travel directions for the following day. The breakfast offering was fresh and varied.

The staff and breakfast where both great, what let's this hotel down is the desperate need for major refurbishment. The rooms have new furniture and paint but beyond this it's very old and tired. The bathrooms where last done in the very early 90s by the look of them. The pool area was also extremely old with bits of tiles missing in the pool, closed of sauna, and very scruffy changing rooms.

The Car Park was large and easy to access, with well marked bays. The Hotel room, beds and bed linen were very clean and comfortable... as were all of the corridors and areas leading to the accommodation. The Breakfast Buffet had a comprehensive range of options BUT due to the Hotel being very busy on the Sunday, items either ran out or cold... however, on the Monday (when there were very few guests), my order was taken by the member of staff looking after the Breakfast service and soon presented freshly cooked and plated... which was excellent.

Heating was broken in my room . There was mold on the curtains and overall not a good hotel cold and damp and dirty . Lift didn't work . I actually left early and checked into another hotel . Would not recommend

Run down rooms and no soap in room.

No hairdryer at the pool + showers scaldingly hot.

Clean and tidy, everything you need there.

Overall the stay was ok, the room was a good size for our family and breakfast was nice. However the hotel was a little run down and the pool and hot tub were cold. We didn't have a very enjoyable evening meal experience either as the staff made hard work of the ordering process and complicated it through having to order some bits from the bar and then waiting to order other bits from the restaurant menu. When i asked the main manager on duty what the food was like and what she recommended in the restaurant i was told i wouldn't know I've never eaten here so how would i know what its like. Great! Not impressed.

Room was average but dated, clean though aside from kettle. Food was average at best and felt bad but service wasn’t the best either. Ended up asking to leave breakfast so I could eat somewhere else

We had a family room wasn't very nice...looked like some sort of meeting room or something. Very odd design, in rather a tired state and oddly furnished. The bed was in a separate room with doors and was nice but the bathroom tiny and felt like in a broom cupboard. Our Key card failed everytime so had to walk back to reception leaving my son and bags etc. The room was all the way at the back of the hotel so this was a pain, too. Reception was deserted, apart from on arrival where I had a lovely chat with the staff member about martial arts. Very bad especially when needing a key card redone in the evenings. I called the number as said on reception phone to alert staff but no answer. Maybe staff shortages or just one person on night shift but really annoying and bad customer service. There was a fire alarm at 3 am and not only was this upsetting, scary and exhausting after our 7 hr drive, but it was badly managed by the hotel. Or didn't seem to be managed at all. Again assume due to not enough staff but the guests were left to sort ourselves out, no one came to role call/count heads or to tell us to come back in etc. Absolutely awful. Rumours were that someone was smoking and the night shift guy was checking rooms but not good enough. A member of staff should have come out to check us and keep informed. At breakfast- a great selection, unfortunately the eggs we ordered arrived after finished our plates. Took 20mins to scramble them! Jacuzzi didn't work. 😞

staff were great but in big shortages, the place is very dated,wouldn't recommend
