I booked a hotel on Hotel.com, intuitively a 5-star rated hotel, which I thought was a 5-star hotel, but it turned out to be a B&B. By my expectations, it was subpar.
There was no air conditioning, no elevator, and the hotel pre-assigned me to the top floor.
When I arrived, the local temperature was 37 degrees Celsius, so the top floor was incredibly hot without air conditioning! Plus, it's a Victorian-style building designed for insulation, which could easily cause accidents for someone with a chronic illness.
I immediately requested a room downstairs, but the receptionist said they were full. After repeated requests, she said I had to pay the difference, and it was very expensive. I couldn't accept that, so I had to carry my luggage up to the top floor in 37-degree heat.
The room was stuffy, with only two small fans. I stayed there for two nights.
Frankly, by hotel standards, it was subpar. By B&B standards, it was quite nice, and the breakfast was good. But it wasn't my choice.

This hotel is quite easy walking distance into the main "old" part of town ... Bath Abbey, Roman Baths, River Avon, multiple churches, tons of restaurants. We loved our spacious room with a gorgeous high ceiling and updated bathroom. It felt like pure luxury after our cramped stay in London. We chose to enjoy their breakfast after an early morning walk down the river and around the Royal Victoria Gardens. There is an additional upcharge for the breakfast; but it was heaty and delicious with multiple options on the menu. There's a lovely little garden where you can sit out in the evening. It's in an old estate house, so there is no A/C -- which meant it was quite hot when we were there. But they provided a fan, and the windows opened so we could bring in some cooler air once the sun went down. It felt clear that the staff wanted to make our stay quite nice.

We were in Bath during record heat. The radiator would not turn off in the bathroom, adding to the heat. We were not offered a different room or any money back for the inconvenience and problem that made the room almost intolerable.

Room was small but clean enough. The big problem with us was the stairs and no lift. We were at the top of the hotel and quite a few flights of stairs
. We are in our 70s and had two suitcases about 45lbs each. Ended up leaving them in the car and just taking what we needed from them for the night. We are from Canada and I understand a lot of hotels in Britain are like that.

Second time staying here. Expensive, and both breakfast and parking cost extra. Breakfast was good, but not excellent like some other stays we had on this trip. Parking is tight but doable. The Plate restaurant next door is very good for dinner.

This place was so amazing! You could walk to anything you wanted to do. We were in the garden room and it was perfect. Our stay was 3 days but we never wanted to leave! The staff was so helpful and the garden view was incredible! Breakfast is extra but worth starting your day with :)

Nicht ausreichend Parkplätze für alle Gäste vorhanden, wird zudem auch noch vom Personal genutzt. Wurden sogar vom Personal eingeparkt!
Am Eingang Container mit Müll und ungepflegt (Bepflanzung am Haus,Müll am Parkplatz).
Empfang bei Ankunft alles andere als freundlich, abgefertigt und arrogant.
Achtung, Frühstück extra pro Tag 15 Pfund.
Badezimmer: Spinnen und Spinnennetze am Fenster, sehr unappetitlich. Licht über Spiegel und Dunstabzug defekt. Daher sehr viel Feuchtigkeit, die man nicht rauskriegt da Fenster im Bad nur 10cm zu öffnen und dann auch noch Balkonkasten davor! Leute, das geht einfach nicht
Im Schlafzimmer alte kaputte Vorhänge.
Sessel mit Flecken...
Die Liste ist endlos, viel zu teuer für so viele Mängel. Nie wieder Ayrlington!!!

A little shabby but perfect location. Pillows flat and sheets older but bed was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. One room facing the garden was peaceful and quiet while second room facing the street louder as street is busy. Location is a short walk to central Bath with many food options close by.

When we arrived and checked in, the receptionist was very friendly and took us to our room which is nice. Room beautiful and clean. We didn’t have breakfast as we prefer to eat brunch. Would definitely go back and recommended for sure. Took us about 15 minutes to walk to train station and only about 10 minutes to shops.
