The check-in process was frustrating. The hotel’s payment system did not accept international Apple Pay, despite it being widely accepted at the airport and even within the hotel’s own café. This resulted in multiple unnecessary transactions and delays after a long journey. More concerning was the persistent noise disturbance. There were loud birthday parties with DJ music that carried straight through the walls into the room. I was unwell during the stay and had to make repeated calls to the front desk to address the issue. While the duty manager was responsive, the matter was never meaningfully resolved, and there was no follow-up from senior management despite a request to escalate to the General Manager. This lack of ownership and guest care stands in stark contrast to industry standard for five star properties. I will consider giving this property one more chance, but this experience has certainly impacted my perception of the Hyatt brand as a loyal customer.

Awesome stay experience

The worst checkin experience! The staff tried to push us to another hotel of a completely different chain that would’ve jeopardised our specific event proximity requirements significantly. There was no prior communication or any indication of any issue with our reservation made on hotels.com 10 months in advance. Multiple staff members tried to push cajole and browbeat us into accepting this alternate arrangement! However as we stayed firm on our requirements magically 2 rooms appeared only frustrating and delaying our checkin process by an hour!

Had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Kolkata. The property was comfortable, the service was smooth, and overall it made for a really pleasant experience. A special shout-out to Prince from Riverside Café — he went above and beyond to take care of our needs, especially when the main venue wasn’t open. Also a big thanks to Kuntal, the restaurant manager, who truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. In the bar, Sameer did his absolute best to make sure my friends and I had a great time — really appreciated his energy and attention. And of course, recognition for the rest of the wonderful team: Marful, Anusri, Arup, Sofia, Kuljit, Jamir, Sandipan, and Aloke. Their professionalism and warm hospitality made the stay even better. Great hotel, great people — highly recommended.

Room was nice

Rooms are a little old - for the room rate I would think we would have better room decor and more modern. Room thermostat had no heating option - cool or off! Breakfast spread was good but service was slow. Dinner options - need more continental options.

The hotel is luxurious, only there is a little mold smell.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I researched many hotels in Kolkata before choosing the Hyatt Regency, and I’m so glad I did. Considering the price, luxury, service, and safety — everything here is truly above the top. The hotel is very neat and clean, and the atmosphere feels both elegant and comfortable. Their breakfast is phenomenal, offering great variety and quality. The location is also convenient — not far from the international airport, which makes travel easy

Very clean. Amazing staff who is so efficient and responsive. Made our kids feel so special. Every request was completed in 5 min. The biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The food was amazing! The options on the "limited midnight menu" were more than most American hotels have on their full menu. The food arrived hot and fresh. Warning: they include salad and bread with the order so it'll definitely will be a lot of food. Portions are so generous. We had Maacher jhol and kosha mangsho for our first meal back in Kolkata after 10 years after coming off a 24h journey. What a treat!

All the waiters specially rishikesh, dinning manager (she is from Bhutan forgot her name) and others were very good
