We were quite disappointed upon our arrival at SO Sofitel Bel Ombre. Although the official check-in time was 15:00, we were made to wait until 16:00 before being given access to our room. Bagage arrived after 17 15 and left with no battery as charger is in our luggage. To our dismay, when we finally entered the room, we discovered stained bed sheets and hair on the bed,an unacceptable level of cleanliness for a hotel of this calibre supposedly to be a 5 star hotel. The situation was further compounded by the fact that we had no internet connection and were forced to make multiple attempts to reach reception by phone. When someone eventually did answer, the staff member was dismissive and rude,a shocking first impression that set a negative tone for our stay. To add to our frustration, we found the minibar completely empty. Not even basic soft drinks were provided, despite our willingness to pay for them. This lack of attention to basic guest needs is truly surprising for a hotel under the Sofitel brand. We had expected a much higher standard in terms of cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality. I sincerely hope serious steps will be taken to address these issues, both in service delivery and housekeeping standards. It’s unfortunate that such a poor experience upon arrival now risks being shared more widely, especially as we had chosen your hotel with high expectations. Traveller local and International. Good looking resort, poor pool, looks like a repurposed fountain rather than a pool to swim in. Some great staff and some very average, so service inconsistent. Best for couples who want to stay in a secluded part of the island with nothing happening in their resort.

Une expérience en contraste… Très bel environnement végétal, agréable plage déserte, ambiance « à l écart du monde ». Magnifique et grande chambre / villa décorée par Kenzo. Superbe piscine d un design très original. L hôtel a été par contre manifestement « downgradé » par rapport à l origine. Les défauts sont multiples. Peu de personnel présent au petit déjeuner / dîner à notre arrivée. Après échange avec le responsable, la situation s est améliorée. Le soir le seul choix possible est le buffet. Il est bon, mais ne pas proposer une alternative est anormal. La carte « alimentaire » du bar n a aucun intérêt. Il n y a aucune ambiance au bar. Le service de cet hôtel n est globalement pas à la hauteur de ce que l on attend. Déchets laissés par des clients sur la plage. Vous êtes obligés de les signaler. Idem pour lampe qui clignote au spa, serviettes abandonnées au hammam ou gel main au hammam toujours vide. Un hammam sur 2 fonctionne : Il est soit trop chaud , soit trop froid : aucune réparation entreprise. Une expérience détestable au spa sur un massage de niveau « 0 ». Je découvre au final que la masseuse n est pas une masseuse de l hôtel. Elle ne connait rien aux massages. C est une faute. Je constate au global que l hôtel est négligé. Le management est absent (sauf à la restauration, manager bienveillant). On voit que cet hôtel, qui a besoin d une rénovation, est en fin de vie. Accor semble avoir réduit de manière drastique les coûts au détriment du Client

Très belle suite avec vue mer , beau restaurant jardin , repas délicieux , le personnel fantastique , mais la plage est moins belle que sur les photos , exposée au vent . L'entree de l'Hotel n'est pas très chic , vieillotte .

Best vacation my wife and I have had hands down. We have traveled the world since we were both young adults and we could not have been happier. Great resort and great people!

We felt it was more representative of a 4* stay than 5* hotel. We stayed in a suite, and the room was tired and needed updating. Nowhere to hang towels, plugs not working, no curtains for the patio area so was awaken at first light. And despite saying there were two restaurants, with half board you had to pay for the other. So you are restricted to the buffet, which is limited in size and the food was repetitive. The price of drinks was very high. A pint of beer was £8 and a single shot of liqueur was £10 for the cheapest. Meaning bar tabs run up if you want to have some drinks with your meals. There was a bit of upselling throughout the stay for their trips, massages, taxis, dinners etc. Gym was small and WiFi was weak throughout. However lovely beach and pool area. And staff were very friendly.

We liked the friendliness and kindness of all the staff we met at the hotel and were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. We would like to thank everyone and especially Raj and Divya for always being there to make our stay completely stress and hassle free, chef Vinay and his team for the delicious variety of wonderful dishes that catered for all tastes and a special thank you for the effort they made to tweak the recipes to cater for my allergies , all the waiting and bar staff especially Jamy who always made us feel welcome and we would also like to thank the spa team for the incredible treatments they provided to make our stay even more memorable . The whole holiday experience was unforgettable from our cleaner Noora to the gardeners and buggy drivers who were a delight to meet and always had a smile on their faces … thank you, Sam & Ruth .

Beautiful hotel and beach. Staff couldn’t be more accommodating and were so helpful with assisting with baby food. Hospitality was great . A few points, the buffet was nothing compared to other 4-5* resorts we have stayed at across the island, no ice cream at dessert for the children, was quite disappointing. On the last day, staff kept entering our room without ringing first at the very least which was really strange and inappropriate.
