What Guests Say About Their Stay

This hotel is wonderful. I’d had a really long day working so was tired but the hotel made everything better. Check in was great, my room was comfortable and had everything I needed. And also things I didnt like a mini bar etc. I went to the spa to relax and the steam room was really hot, the outside jacuzzi’s were bubbly and the right temperature and the pool a great size. When I went to dinner I was warmly greeted and told I could do some work in the bar whilst I looked at the menu. The menu was varied and I found it hard to choose. The wine list was excellent. I slept like a baby and used the well equipped gym in the morning. My only slight gripe is the Wi-Fi is poor, I had to hotspot from my phone but no biggy. I’ll definitely be back - thanks for a great stay.

Nice hotel let down by organisational issues. Staff friendly and hard working but at this price point expecting better. Coffee took half an hour to arrive at breakfast. Bagel not toasted and raw at lunch. Breakfast trays with food on them still in corridors at 6 pm in evening. Room was not serviced, when came back to my room at 5 pm staff was on the phone in the bathroom having not yet started the room service. Water stopped working in room in the morning. The bonus is though the rooms are expensive restaurant and bar are reasonably priced. Could be a nice hotel but management needs a refresh

Despite looking very stylish from afar up close the property let little tweaks of cleanliness dirty floors, cobwebs fingerprints on windows and glasses. We had a good stay however for the price and for its reputation we expected a little bit more attention to detail when it comes to the upkeep of the property. Also we stayed for two nights and didn’t get our room serviced once and had to ask on multiple occasions to bring clean towels the food in the gate was amazing again however lacked in the service that you would expect we would stay here again for its convenience and overall the hotel is very nicely designed however didn’t give the wow factor as we expected unfortunately. We also used the Spa which again needed some attention to the cleanliness the changing rooms had dirty floors and the staff whilst lovely were clearly inexperienced the garden of the Spa redeemed the property

Nice room and clean pool and spa facilities. I've stayed here a few times, and unfortunately the main issue continues to be the staff. Aside from the restaurant manager, the service feels consistently cold and unwelcoming. On my most recent visit there were four staff members behind the spa reception desk and not one of them acknowledged me when I entered. The restaurant service was also extremely slow. The reception staff are the same, including the manager, who I believe is an Asian woman. Even though I’ve stayed here multiple times and know my way around, there was no courteous welcome, no information offered, and not even a simple "enjoy your stay." In the end, I couldn't be bothered to deal with the cold service, so I skipped breakfast at the hotel and went elsewhere instead!

The room was absolutely lovely, but I felt nearly all the members of staff were not as attentive as I had hoped for (apart from a very chatty bar man), the food took over an hour for the main course and I felt it was expensive for what it was. The non alcoholic cocktails were not good at all and I noticed other tables were waiting ages for food/drinks etc. The relaxation room was very nice and overall spa facilities were lovely.

Staff issues across the board: 1. I left dirty towels in the floor and found them folded back on my bed…. 2. Front desk staff told me I could get my breakfast delivered to my room in the evening as I had a 5am departure, when ordered it the front desk manager said they cannot as she didn’t want to as their evening chefs to cook eggs which is a morning dish… 3. On my on site breakfast, I asked about the ingredients of a meal and told only eggs on a toast. It came with lots of ham between the toast and the egg…. They should be more ttentive while explicitly asked for an ingredient not consumed for many reasons

I recently stayed at Harbour Hotels Richmond, and the experience was extremely disappointing — particularly in comparison to Harbour Hotel Southampton, which is on a completely different level in terms of standards and service. The room was not properly cleaned, which is a basic expectation at any hotel charging premium prices. It immediately felt neglected and poorly managed. The TV was also not functioning properly, suggesting a lack of maintenance and attention to detail. Breakfast was genuinely poor — low quality, badly presented, and nowhere near what you would expect from a hotel positioning itself as upscale. It felt more like a budget offering than a premium experience. Noise was a constant issue. There was ongoing banging and disturbance from neighbouring rooms, making it difficult to relax or sleep. Either soundproofing is inadequate, or noise complaints are not taken seriously — neither reflects well on management. The most concerning aspect, however, was the staff. When issues were raised, they appeared poorly trained and lacked the knowledge or confidence to deal with basic concerns professionally. There was a clear absence of organisation and customer care. To then charge £35 for just one extra hour of late checkout feels excessive and out of touch, particularly given the already underwhelming experience. Overall, this stay fell far below the standards set by other Harbour Hotels and does not reflect the premium image the brand promotes. I would not return

The worst hotel I have stayed at. I left to book another hotel within 3 hours of checking in. My stay was meant to be restful, slow & relaxing but due to how fully booked they were & the knock on effect that has on the amnetities they offer, plus being in a freezing room with poor heating & given a broken heater. I quickly realised this wouldn't be what I hoped for. What confirmed that I am better off losing my money than remaining her, was when I raised my issues with the manager and was told & I quote: "I have a negative attitude" for raising the issues that I was experiencing AND issues I had also seen others had raised about this hotel - to her. It was incredibly offensive as I had been to other members of staff 3x before speaking to her, trying to find resolutions to my issues. Luckily it was only 2hrs into check in so I hadn't packed or been able to use the already well busy spa area at 5pm. Wouldn't advise. You can find the same amenities at other places & the hotel I booked to move to was MILES better in customer service & at a better pricepoint.
