The stay was excellent and the rooms were really well designed. I also appreciate how they were able to extend my booking last minute. The best part of this hotel is access to downtown Newcastle by foot and access to the train station or metro. The only thing I don't recommend is the restaurant on the 2nd floor. It was extremely overpriced and portions were small and nothing special. For breakfast I highly recommend going to the cafe on the 1st floor. The food and snacks there are great and prices are much better.

Upgraded to a newly renovated jr suite. It was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable with amazing views of the Tyne Bridge and castle. Staff were wonderful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Good location with lots of nice restaurants and things to see nearby.

The hotel was lovely, the breakfast was AMAZING. The location of the hotel is so good and parking was made very easy. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is we found blood on the carpet on the morning. If we found the night before or when we checked in we would have gone to reception as we noticed when we were leaving we didn’t move rooms. This was clearly missed when cleaned.

Had a suite. Recently refurbished. It was OK. Three things though: The paint on the woodwork and doors wasn’t keyed right, so it scratched off very easily. It will look bad in no time. TV had Chromecast, which is dated and just doesn’t work. A complete waste of time. You can’t stream to the TV nor was Netflix / Prime available. Zero plug sockets in the living area. Impossible to plug an iPad or laptop in to watch streaming TV.

We had a very comfortable, clean, spacious room overlooking the Millenium Bridge. We needed to be quiet, as we were attending a family funeral. And it was. The facilities in the room are excellent. You have everything you need and more. Watch out for extemely hot water in the shower. Also, we paid an extortionate amount of money for a 10/15 minute taxi ride which the hotel booked for us. I would suggest booking an Uber or Google a local company. Lastly, the food is delicious, but we thought quite expensive (there is a Prix Fixe menu). Our breakfast was included in our room rate, so was cost effective and excellent. We will definitely revisit Malmaison and do recommend.
