First time at El Cielo, and we were so glad we decided to stay there. The service we received was top level. We have visited Valley de Guadalupe several times, but this is the first time we experience this level of excellence. The room is nicely decorated, well kept, and very clean. I definitely recommend this resort, and we look forward to staying there again.

We visited this resort to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We were very happy to hear our room had been upgraded to a better room. The evening we decided to fill up the hot tub and have a romantic evening. Well that turned bad quickly. We tried to drain some of the water and realized the drain was clogged and black sand and dirty sewer water came out the shower drain. We didn’t realize it until the smell came from the shower. We quickly called room service and a lot of people came to the room to contain the flooded bathroom. The quickly dried and unclog the drains and clean up the dirty sand. After they left the smell was still present but led the door closed hoping the smell would have gone away only to see that in the morning some of that smell was still present. I mentioned it to the service representative upon check out and as she was very nice on check in didn’t seem to really have compassion of the situation we endured. I honestly think we would’ve told to move but I think because of how booked the resort was they didn’t offer. For how much the expectation was when we arrived based on the resort itself we were very disappointed in the way it was handled.

Not Luxury at All – Total Waste of Money
I booked this hotel through Expedia expecting a luxury experience, but it was anything but. The room was part of new construction, but the quality was shockingly poor — sloppy finishes, grout residue everywhere, and a generally unfinished feel. It looked like no one bothered to do a final clean after construction.
The cleanliness was unacceptable. I found makeup residue on the vanity from a previous guest, dirty windows, and linens that didn’t seem fresh. Several surfaces were clearly not cleaned properly — definitely not the standard you'd expect from a “luxury” hotel.
Service was just as disappointing. Despite visiting in low season with the hotel nearly empty, the management refused to accommodate a late checkout or room change. They blamed an “event,” but a staff member later admitted there was no such event happening. It felt dishonest and unprofessional.
This hotel is all about appearances and false advertising. Definitely not worth the high price. I would not stay here again and strongly recommend others look elsewhere.

The property is beautifully well kept, if you’re looking for something more than just a place to stay this is it. The rooms are modern & very clean, with all the amenities you need. Outside they have pool or if a casual walk is your thing, you can walk around the property. They have two restaurants on the property, Latitude has nice views of mountains and vineyards if siting outside, unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit the other one. Their staff is very friendly and professional, upon check in they greet you with a glass of wine which is a nice touch. We order room service, both the chilaquiles and French toast was very good and fresh. I would definitely be coming back.
