The staff are all wonderful and speak very good English. They bring a French press coffe to your room in the morning. The breakfast included from the cafe Herva downstairs was very good. The hotel is an old mansion, restored to a degree and turned into a hotel. They did a fine job but don’t expect everything to be crisp and sharp, it’s an old, historic building. Although I had no problem, the upper rooms may be preferable. The two rooms on the first floor are just feet away from the front desk in the foyer and, depending, may not feel very private as sounds do transfer from foyer to room and back. That said, night shift was very, very quiet and did not disturb me. AC was great and appreciated as it got warm during the day and this room had no operable windows. Overall a very pleasant and sound experience. I would stay again when visiting Colonia Americana.

Good location, but mediocre hotel. Not terribly clean or well-maintained, awkwardly configured rooms (e.g. shower in the middle of the room), lacking some basic modern amenities, and built on top of a restaurant that blasts dance music during the breakfast hour.
Has the feel of a place trying to be chic and stylish, but that don’t quite finish the renovation.

The hotel has a good location. However, there are no phones in the rooms to contact the front desk, which I find inadequate. One morning we didn’t have hot water, which was very inconvenient. Additionally, the hotel does not offer room service, which I also believe should be improved. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and attentive.

We stayed there for a week; everything went smoothly. Our only complaint is the taxi recommendation to go to another town. We suffered the whole round trip without A/C on a hot day, plus the driver came with a sick boy( they aren't going to use that guy anymore!).
Our room was clean and tidy, the staff were kind, the breakfast was delicious, and it was quiet. We are happy that we stayed there.

It was a very nice building im a bery nice area. However I have found to my exasperation for a sevond time that the word Botique seams to mean that thete is no bar and no resturant, no coffee machine ot means if making a cup of tea. There was no hsir drier in the room and in my case it was necessary to get out of bed to switch the lights off

The Hotel y beautiful, the people that works there everyone gives the most professional service.
The neighborhood is lovely, full of coffes and restaurants, the only thing is that as soon as we got to the hotel we were advertised to take taxi instead of walking at night due to the not safe situation, which we believe is not only on that neighborhood, however we just had great experience in Guadalajara.
Definitely a lovely time spend there.

Gala was a perfect escape! The property is gorgeous. Its a historic building that was constructed in 1902. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms for a few days. Since I was out most of the day, the size didn’t matter. The last two days of the trip, I decided to upgrade to one of the larger rooms. It was definitely worth it! Room 8 has french doors that open out into the pool area.
The staff were attentive and pleasant. Everyone greets you and ensures you’re enjoying your stay. Very convenient that Hera Cafe is connected to the property and you can walk over in the morning for complementary breakfast and coffee.
The property is located near a handful of restaurants and cafes. A 10-15 minute Uber ride and you’re in another neighborhood with more restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops.
I would return.
