Independent (SPHC) THE MANHATTAN AT TIMES SQUARE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Had to change rooms first rooms water wouls t stop running second rooms bed was broken stayed here multiple times never had a problem till this time.

This property is awful. Definitely, not what the pictures showed. Carpet was old, torn and dusty. The bed, tv, dresser, iron, ironing board were all old and broken. There were no shower gel. I had to go out and get some. 3 bottles of shampoo in the shower but no shower gel. Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

No place to sit at the entrance of the hotel, the horrible lunch (no choice, no place to eat, no restaurant in the hotel, no indication to indicate where the training room is located, the bath and room, paint that tears off from the ceiling, tapestry that tears off, no fridge, air conditioning that does not push enough air...

Renovations were going on, I paid $900 for 2 nights and this was one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in NY. I have never paid over $600. This place didn’t have a mini fridge, the air conditioner didn’t work right on a hot weekend, no restaurant, no bar. I am far from happy with my moneys worth of a stay. I won’t stay again.

Breakfast only snack , our room had a plumbing issue and drainage , the bathroom door never closed and open by itself , overall staff were friendly , near time square. Accessible for hoop on and hoop off

This property is in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. We felt safe the entire time. I would stay here again. The reason for only 4 stars is that the water dispenser did not work on our floor. Also, the AC unit wasn’t working but they came shortly after phoned at 11:00pm and fixed it. Also, the kitchen sink did not drain. Everything else was excellent.

The hotel and the room that I stayed was good , good view and clean . The breakfast no good, it's grab and go, no options you have to choose juice or coffee, no place to sit, no social areas . The customer service wasn’t good I have to speak with different people in the counter , but they didn't

The bed was bad I had sore body because the bed was springy The bathroom was cheap Faucet and made noise when using it and the bathtab was wobbly it scary

The bed comfort was just horrible Need to be upgraded

The water was not working and only ice was working and the ac was not working

The hotel gave paper cards good for a pastry, juice or water and fruit for breakfast. The bed comfort was good.

Hotel was average. They did not have a fridge. They overcharged too compared to my reservation price on Expedia. Because of this, I have to rate them 2 stars

Expected the breakfast to be better for the price I had to pay. The sink in the bathroom dripped continuously. One of the lights did not work. I suspect this the bulb was burnt out. Did not like the way the shampoo was left in the bathtub. Anyone could’ve opened this container and added anything to it. It was very unsanitary. The room was quiet and clean. The view was good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly.

We stayed at the Manhattan for 2 nights. Upon arrival on night one we noticed the room was not clean, bathroom was dirty. We did a quick wipe down and requested new towels. We also noticed we did not have ac. The room air was stale. We turned the ac down and went out for dinner. When we returned, the ac was again not working and the unit was not showing a temp. After attempting to call the front desk multiple times and getting no answer, I went down to request maintenance. After about an hour, the maintenance was able to come repair the AC. After he left , we tried to shower, but the water was not working. Another attempt at a phone call only to have to go back downstairs and be told that the entire building was having an issue. I asked at that time to be compensated for the night and the front desk assistant told me that I’d have to contact Expedia but that should be no problem. . I contacted the hotel via Expedia that night. I recd a message back comfirming to contact Expedia. After returning from a few more days in other hotels, I followed back with Expedia and they attempted to message the property with no luck. After a couple of days I was then told that I never reported any issues and that I would not receive any compensation. I have the chats on the Expedia site to prove otherwise. I also had the tools that the maintenance man left in my room but returned those when I checked out. I’m very disappointed in my stay and disappointed in the response.

Restaurant closed for major construction. No food just a bun and juice in lobby No room amenities, no fridge etc. Broken desk lamp, leaking tap in bathroom, cracked and broken floor tiles in bathroom

It was our first time visiting NYC, and we chose this hotel for its convenient location near Times Square and fair pricing. We even upgraded for a better view and were excited for our stay. Unfortunately, check-in wasn’t smooth. The 4pm check-in time felt excessively late, and we had to wait around for hours. The first staff member we encountered wasn’t very friendly, but the person at actual check-in was much more pleasant. The lobby was small with nowhere to sit, and I wouldn’t recommend paying extra for the “breakfast” (it is right next to the receptionist). The room had some drawbacks: no bottled water, microwave, or real space to hang clothes. There was a water/ice station, but not in-room. Worst of all, the Wi-Fi was terrible — I had to rely on mobile data the entire time. It is not “courtesy” internet if it hardly works. Whoever your internet provider is, please consider moving your business elsewhere. Finally, the plumbing was a major issue. The toilet often needed multiple flushes, which is both inconvenient and environmentally concerning. The sewage would also constantly back up. Would I recommend this hotel: absolutely no. You can find something much better, especially the Sheraton across the road. Again, the only thing going for this place is the location (the view from our room was just okay). Other than that, I cannot tell you much that I loved about this hotel.

Check in was fine. Should update the wallpaper, bathroom doors etc. Everything feels very 1990s. Bathroom storage door is falling off the hinges.

Place was outdated. Hallways smellled like mildew. Shower was horrible. We wore sandals while showering. Room conditions were deteriorating.

Just an ordinary stay. Don't get excited by pictures or breakfast.
