From when I arrived, the friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff was apparent, they could not do more for me, it was just fantastic, then when I went up to the room, the room was also so beautiful presented.
Bathroom is modern, rainwater showerhead was great, the balcony was well used and appreciated, and the king size bed was luxurious. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful, I had a great time.

On arrival to our room there was no extra bed as paid for, we were not advised that there was no buffet breakfast. Instead given a voucher for a cafe for $20 each. There were only 3 things on the menu for $20 so had to pay extra. Also the room was not clean and full of mould, just yuck!

Receptionist super nice however The room was not cleaned properly. There was rubbish in my room. We bought breakfast buffet however is not included any coffee! The the buffet is super small not choices.

Taking the overnight train from Brisbane we were delayed, by a medical emergency, for over 3 hours arriving about 8.45pm instead of 5pm. On arrival at the hotel the door was locked and no one visible inside. There was an emergency telephone number outside and intercom. Several attempts at both had no response. A resident appeared and let us in but no message re door key etc. eventually another resident appeared and was able to open a key pad near reception with envelopes inside and luckily one for our room. Having no Wi-Fi on the train or telephone signal we had not been able to inform the hotel of our late arrival. Once in our room we logged onto Wi-Fi and received their email telling us that reception closed at 8pm and details of access—a bit late. As we had paid for half board we had missed dinner but nothing- not even a bag of crisps had been left for us. Beware, no recompense the next day, 20$ allowance each for dinner and breakfast doesn’t include drinks! The cooked to order breakfast was good.

Two hot and weary travellers presented at the front desk. The reception manager was genuinely friendly and efficient. He made us feel human. We quickly cleaned up for a couple ales at happy hour and two well priced, good meals served by another friendly waitress. A good finish to our trip on the iconic Savannahlander. If back in Cairns, would definitely book here again.
