Palms City Resort is a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in March 2024. The staff are extremely courteous and most helpful. The room we stayed in was on the 2nd floor and was spacious and serviced all our needs. It only has two floors and stairs up to it, but they are not arduous. It has a pool which is big enough to do laps in. The grounds are its best asset. Surrounded by lush palms, native trees, and shrubs, it looks like a hotel you would expect to see in tropical Qld. It is a very quiet and peaceful hotel, despite its central location. The location is excellent. It is only a 10 min walk to the main centre of town and right next door to a pub we really enjoyed: The Hotel Darwin. It is right opposite the memorial gardens that lead onto the harbour and at night the sunsets are worthy of photos and meditative relaxation. One of the highlights for us was Pickles, a gorgeous green-cheeked Conure who regularly sits at reception and greets the guests. If we have to be picky, our only complaint is the design of the bathroom vanity, which due to its design becomes flooded with water when you wash your hands or face. We had to continuously wipe it dry with a towel. But that is a mere detail. Otherwise, we would highly recommend this hotel.

Room was lovely, only stayed one night due to flight the next day. We had a bungalow room which had its own bbq. Faced the pool. We stayed here 10 years ago and standard was still as good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definately recommend.

Loved the check-in, which included Sammy the parrot! Super friendly staff. A good walkable location for many of the sights in Darwin. The pool was great, and the room was good for the price. I would definitely recommend and would return if in the NT.

The best experience we had in Darwin. We love the adorable pickles and everyone at the front desk is super friendly and kind. The rooms are new and cleaned. You just have to remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste!

We enjoyed our stay in our dinky bungalow. Lovely pool. The cleaning staff were very friendly and smiley. We were very upset when we arrived because the chef was on holiday so there was no food! We had to rush out to buy food as soon as we arrived ---not ideal! Why did you not send us a message so that we were prepared?

The room itself was clean and tidy. Nice shower. Beds were comfortable but a little on the short side. Unfortunately, the people in the room next door were a nightmare. Yelling and arguing until 4 in the morning. The hotel staff did eventually remove them. I have stayed here before and never had any issues like this. It was a pity this happened because it spouled what could have been a nice weekend
