Weather wasn’t great but it was still a very lovely place to stay indoors and enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel.

Enjoyed our stay and meals at the hotel. Well worth including breakfast with your booking.

Excellent stay.

Breakfast was good. Standard late checkout of 11am good. That’s about it. Would have been a nice hotel in its heyday but really showing its age, especially the carpet and the stale smell. Booked 3 rooms for extended family - not a small amount of money… Two rooms had major issues including very noisy air conditioning, uncomfortable beds, toilet spraying water all over when it flushed (and only “fixed” by wrapping a towel around the leak). Our room had no conditioner and no hand soap. When you flushed our toilet, the water went all over the seat. The doona covers are those ridiculous ones that are not enclosed so they end up on the floor after you sleep and you’re sleeping under a bare doona - wonder how often they are washed …? The bar staff were very inexperienced spilling over-filled soft drinks and tap beer all over without apologies and without cleaning up after themselves, forgetting cutlery with food, plonking CLOSED bottles of wine and cans of beer on the table (RSA?!) and not pouring into glasses - really zero “service” and this was not just once but every time we were served. Plenty of staff hanging around doing very little other than chatting. Seems to be no supervision by anyone who had any clue.

Lovely lady checked us in. We had an event to go to so arrived early just to park but our room was ready so we were able to check in. Received a complimentary upgrade. Stayed in Room 931 and it was fabulous! Exceeded our expectations! Room was well appointed, spacious and had the regal luxury look. Loved the robes, slippers and complimentary waters and snacks. It was spacious and the bed & pillows were extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay again! Our only feedback was we were charged credit card fees of $5.28 when we checked in yet we don’t have credit cards. We weren’t advised of the charges at the time and didn’t realise until we got all the way home and received the invoice via email. If there were going to be charges to use a Visa Debit Card, we should have been advised and given the opportunity to use the savings option on our card. Any fees should be clearly communicated. Other than this, the stsy was fabulous!

Royal are always super comfortable beds, lovely staff and delicious meals. A fantastic staycation every time

Lovely big room, staff were so friendly and accomodating when I need items like milk and coffee, I did request a 4am wake up call but lucky I woke up earlier as I didn’t get called until nearly 4.30am, they did say they called but no reply which was strange. Overall lovely hotel and would be back again.

Great location for botanical gardens and getting about. Was some building noise from work on being done in area nearby (city view) Front desk staff very helpful.

This is a beautiful, nicely updated historical hotel located right across the street from the botanical gardens as well as the Southbank parklands. Great place for couples to walk and for families with little children.

We really enjoyed the stay at your hotel. It was at a really good location next to the City Botanical Gardens. I did enjoy a walk in the Botanical Gardens before winding down for the day. The breakfast buffet had a very good selection of items. Which was just lovely. The only issue we had was the cleaning and making the bed. We had to ask for the housekeeping staff to come back to our room and clean up some places that were missed. I know your housekeeping is trying their best. No one is prefect.
