The Macquarie Hotel

The Macquarie Hotel is in an excellent location. As a historic building, it is a little quirky but charming. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in supplying breakfasts when I needed to leave early in the mornings or to check in later in the evening after the reception was closed. They were also very helpful with my laundry needs. I would very much recommend the Macquarie Hotel for a great stay at a reasonable price.

The best hotel checkin experience anywhere - ever! Our host Sabina gave us the warmest welcome, showing us to our room, and ensuring we knew about our complementary breakfast and anything we might need to know. The hotel is beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was easy to park and meander down to the Salamanca Markets and restaurants.

Overall good for an old English style hotel. Downsides No after-hours checking facility or reception. There is a key safe. Overnight traffic noise a little too much to get a good night's sleep.

The staff were lovely, nothing is too much to ask. The property is in a fantastic position with easy walking to amazing restaurants, and constitution Dock. Breakfast is included each day, with lovely selections of cereals, pastries, toast, yogurt and fruit, etc. I loved that there were beautiful plates and China tea pots and cups for our use. It would be hard to choose somewhere else to stay. We had a two bedroom apartment with lots of space. The public areas were beautifully decorated and inviting. A very relaxed and comforting place to stay. Great value for money

All staff were great. Historic old hotel meant no elevators. Room was okay. If we were to do it again, would stay at a place closer to the action, e.g. Salamanca area

Beautiful building, friendly staff

The hot water on the basin was not working. One of the shower panel was missing. We hung NOT DISTURB but they cleaned the room. No filtered water jug in the fridge. Noisy due to the stairs creaking because the family room was beliw ground. Breakfast was very limited and most disappoiinted that coffee (except for instant) needed to be paid separately, I would definitely not promote "Breakfast included" with this standard.

You pay what you get. Don't expect too much.

Very quaint and everything needed for a hassle free stay.
